How does mental illness develop?

In recent years, as people's life pressure has increased, many people feel depressed and their brains become slow to react. Over time, they develop mental illnesses, which have brought great difficulties to their work and life. The formation of mental illness is not as simple as increased stress. Let me introduce to you the causes of mental illness.

1) Genetic factors: There is more evidence that mental illness is hereditary, and the closer the blood relationship, the higher the potential incidence rate.

2) Physiological causes: The dopamine hypothesis is the most widely accepted hypothesis on the etiology of mental illness. This hypothesis is supported by the fact that antipsychotic drugs improve psychotic symptoms through their effects on dopamine (DA) neurotransmitter.

3) Mental stimulation: What role do stimulating life events play in the occurrence of the disease? Some scholars believe that stimulating life events trigger symptoms in people with a predisposition to mental illness and make them appear more obvious.

4) Environmental factors: Several environmental factors, usually occurring early in life, appear to increase the risk of developing a mental illness. The etiological factors of these mental illnesses include severe maternal malnutrition, viral infection during pregnancy, and perinatal brain damage.

5) Physical factors: The cause of mental illness is closely related to physical constitution and nervous type. Clinically, it is found that mental illness often occurs in introverted type, weak and unbalanced type, weak + artistic type, or slender type, which is the so-called schizoid temperament.

The causes of mental illness should attract our attention. With the increasing pressure in today's society, people have suffered great mental confusion, which can easily lead to the formation of mental illness. Therefore, the more modern society is, the more we should prevent the onset of mental illness.
