The correct way to apply eye ointment to the nasal cavity

Ointments have many functions, and some ointments do not simply have the function described in their name. Ointment can treat rhinitis and is very beneficial for some diseases on the nose. When using medicine, be sure to wash your hands and keep them clean. The ointment can be applied to the side of the nose or squeezed directly into the nose, and then the nose is pinched to prevent breathing. Repeat several times and it will be fine. Generally, the ointment should be used at night.

Atropine eye drops can treat visual fatigue and pseudomyopia, and are the only accurate means to examine refractive errors and determine their nature (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism) and diagnose amblyopia. Correct use is harmless to the eyes and the body.

Guidance:

Before applying the medicine, parents should wash their hands, cut their nails short, press the inner canthus (i.e. lacrimal sac) of both eyes first and then apply the medicine. The pressure should last for at least 2 minutes. Then use the prepared tissue paper to absorb the liquid outside the eye and then stop the pressure. The purpose is to block the tear puncta and reduce the absorption of drugs into the oral and nasal cavity through the tear puncta. Younger children may blush, so just drink more warm water.

1. Moisturize the nasal cavity. Before going to bed every night, use a cotton swab to apply tetracycline, chloramphenicol or erythromycin eye ointment on the nasal mucosa, or directly squeeze 1 cm of one of the above ointments into the nasal cavity, and then pinch the nose 3-5 times. Going to bed at night is the best time to repair the nasal mucosa. Applying ointment can not only moisten the nasal cavity, but also help repair damaged mucosa and cilia, and block dust.

2. People with allergic rhinitis should participate in more physical exercises, such as swimming, jogging, brisk walking, Tai Chi, table tennis, etc., to increase their immunity.

3. Press and rub the tip of your nose. Pressing and kneading the Sujiao point in the center of the nose can increase nasal mucus secretion. Rotate it 36 times in a clockwise direction and then 36 times in a counterclockwise direction, once in the morning and once in the evening. Use your index finger or thumb to massage Yingxiang, Yintang and temples, causing the acupoints to feel sore and swollen or a sour feeling in the nose.

4. Rub your nose. Use your thumb and index finger to rub the sides of your nose, from the Yingxiang point to the inner canthus, and from the nose tip to the Yintang point, until the skin turns slightly red. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening. This can improve the blood circulation of the local nasal cavity and nearby tissues, especially for nasal congestion.

5. The main cause of allergic rhinitis is the sensitivity of the nasal mucosa, the slowing of cilia movement in the nasal cavity, and the reduction of immune ability. Enhancing immunity is the key. Washing your nose with cold water every morning and evening can effectively relieve the discomfort caused by rhinitis. The method is: fill a basin with cold water, hold a deep breath, lower your head, immerse your nose in the cold water for about 2-5 seconds, leave the water, and repeat 3-5 times in a row. You can repeat it more often in the morning. If you insist on washing your nose with cold water for a long time, you will get good results.

The method of applying ointment is not suitable for long-term treatment. It can relieve the dryness of the nasal cavity temporarily, but if applied for a long time, the ointment molecules are too large and can easily affect the normal swinging of the nasal cilia, which is not good for the self-cleaning function of the nasal cavity.

The most common treatments for rhinitis are currently medications and surgery. Prevent colds at ordinary times and reduce the chance of rhinitis. Rhinitis cannot be cured and is prone to recurrence. In addition to medication, surgery and other treatments, it is recommended that you try washing your nose with saline. This method does not require medication and has no side effects. It is effective for simple rhinitis. If the concentration, temperature and operation method of the saline are mastered well, it can effectively relieve symptoms and eliminate inflammation. If you persist for a period of time, there will be good results.
