I believe that everyone has seen Bodhi in life. Many Buddhists will wear a string of Bodhi bracelets on their hands, because Bodhi bracelets have the effect of health preservation. In fact, there is another kind of Bodhi called white jade Bodhi. This white jade Bodhi is a relatively rare variety among Bodhi, but it is also brown, but the inside is white after cutting. So what are the effects of white jade Bodhi roots? The difference between white jade bodhi and bodhi root The original body of White Jade Bodhi has a dark brown outer skin from the oil palm, but when cut open the inside is like white jade, with a hard texture and a feel similar to Hetian jade, and is very smooth, hence its name. The surface of the Bodhi root is rough and has patterns, while the inside is white. After a long period of playing, it will turn yellowish brown. Currently, there are Bodhi roots in red, yellow, purple and other colors for sale on the market, but they are just the result of dyeing. Bodhi is the synonym of Buddhism (derived from the famous saying "There is no Bodhi tree, nor is there a mirror stand"), which is a transliteration of Sanskrit, meaning enlightenment, wisdom, knowledge, and path. Bodhi root is roughly the seed of wisdom and knowledge. About the maintenance of white jade bodhi and bodhi root 1. Do not pile heavy objects on the surface of the Bodhi root or white jade Bodhi products, or mix them with hard objects such as keys, so as to avoid twisting and deformation of the Bodhi root. 2. Do not wipe with a wet cloth or rinse with water casually, and avoid applying items containing chemical reagents. Do not use corrosive chemicals such as alkaline water and alcohol to wipe the Bodhi roots, so as not to damage the wood fibers. 3. Never use so-called "protective salt" or other substances for cleaning. "Omamori salt" is actually coarse sea salt. Using it to soak and "purify" Bodhi roots will not only fail to maintain the Bodhi roots, but will greatly damage the wood, causing it to become coarser, discolored and cracked. Ivory nut is the fruit of the coconut tree Ivory nut is the fruit of a kind of coconut tree called TAGUA, which mainly grows near the equator in South America. The tree grows very slowly, and it takes about 15 years to produce fibrous fruit, and the fruit takes 3 to 8 years to fully mature. When the fruit is fully ripe and falls to the ground, it is harvested by the locals. After about 3 to 4 months of drying in the tropical sun, the gelatin of the fruit will mature and become a white, hard substance similar to ivory. Fully dried ivory nuts can be used as a substitute for real ivory products. After the fruit is dried, the hard shell is peeled off by machine, sorted according to size and quality, and then processed into exquisite industrial products or carved into the desired shape. The ivory nut is rough on the outside but white as ivory on the inside, symbolizing the true state of perfection and harmony achieved through practice. Hindus often use it to carve Buddha statues. Using ivory nuts to make handles or decorative ornaments is a very elegant choice. But over time, the color turns yellow! |
