How to wash fur shoes

Fur shoes are most suitable for wearing in winter. Not only are they warm, but they also look very beautiful and fashionable. However, fur shoes also have a disadvantage, which is that they are more troublesome to take care of, especially some light-colored furs. If they are stained with something, they will look dirty, which makes many people have a headache when cleaning them. So, how do you wash fur shoes? Let’s take a look at the cleaning method below.

Step 1: Remove dust from the surface of your shoes. You can use a dry soft brush to gently brush off the dust on the surface of the shoes. Be careful to brush in the same direction to avoid leaving scratches. You can also use a small vacuum cleaner to suck away the floating debris.

Step 2: Use shoe trees to prop up the shoes to ensure they stay in shape.

Step 3: Brush with a suede brush. Note that the copper wire surface should mainly be used to treat areas with heavier stains and polished areas. First use the eraser side to brush in one direction, and use the side surface for the seams. Focus on rubbing the stain in circles, then rub it with copper wire.

Step 4: Wipe once with a damp sponge to wet the upper. The purpose is to mainly deal with water-soluble substances.

Step 5: Then use the special cleaner for suede shoes made by Animal Skin King, shake it well and apply it on the shoe surface. Use the rubber side of a shoe brush to brush it repeatedly to remove stains on the fiber surface. Focus on rubbing the stain in circles, then rub with the copper wire surface. Soak up dirty foam with a damp sponge. Let it dry for more than ten minutes. When the fur is slightly dry but still damp, use the rubber side to brush it in one direction to spread out and tidy up the fur. Let it dry for half an hour.

Step 6: When the fur is slightly dry but still damp, use the eraser side to brush it in one direction to spread out and tidy up the fur.

Step 7: Let the shoes air-dry for half an hour. After the uppers are dry, stuff newspapers inside the shoes for protection. Spray the renewal agent evenly at a distance of 15 cm from the shoes. Renewal agents contain brighteners, colloids (to enhance the adhesion of other substances), pigments, solvents (to dissolve mixed substances), etc. The purpose of spraying renewal agent is mainly to replenish color. Black shoes tend to turn white after being worn for a long time, so it is best to use a color renewing agent.

Step 8: After drying, brush it with a rubber brush to make the color uniform.

Precautions

Note 1: If your suede shoes have faded, wait until the uppers are dry, stuff the shoes with newspapers for protection, and evenly spray a special leather shoe renewing agent 15 cm away from the shoes to better restore the color. Finally, wait for the leather shoes to dry completely and then brush them along the bristles to make the color uniform. It is best to put desiccant in the shoes when storing.

Note 2: A simple way to maintain and clean suede shoes: Mix alcohol and yellow rice flour into a paste and apply it to the shoe surface. After it dries, brush off the yellow rice flour and the dirt will be removed.

Note 3: If your suede shoes are not too dirty, just wipe them dry with a clean scouring pad. The effect is surprisingly good.
