How to exercise facial muscles

Patients with stiff facial muscles can exercise them through physical therapy. There are more than 20 kinds of muscles around the eyes, nose and mouth that express emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow and happiness. As we age, these facial muscles, like the muscles in our waist, wrists, and feet, will gradually decline.

Many people have unnatural facial expressions and it is difficult for them to have a charming smile like a child. Experts believe that this is mainly because the facial muscles of adults gradually become stiff and the balance of the muscles on the left and right sides of the face is destroyed.

Methods/Steps

Exercise the upper eyelid levator muscles to prevent upper eyelid sagging. With your eyes open, lift your eyebrows as high as possible and hold for 5 seconds. Then keep your eyebrows still and let your upper eyelids move downward to squint your eyes. Stay for 5 seconds and then return to the natural state. Do this 3 times each time.

Exercises to lift the muscles at both corners of the mouth. The corners of the mouth of older people often droop in an 8-shaped shape, which makes the facial expression unnatural. 1. Close your lips lightly, roll your upper and lower lips towards the center of your mouth, and then move the corners of your mouth to the left and right, lifting them up for 5 seconds each. 2. Make your lips into a U shape and pull the corners of your mouth as far to the sides as possible for 5 seconds. Do this 5 times each time.

Zygomatic muscle exercises. Open your mouth slightly vertically and lift the corners of your mouth as far upward as possible until there is space between your teeth and cheek mucosa. Stay for 5 seconds. Do this 3 times each time. Persistent zygomatic muscle training can effectively prevent depressions caused by cheek muscle stiffness and atrophy.

If you find the above methods troublesome, then try the lazy exercise method. For example, blowing up balloons.

Blowing balloons is a very simple and effective exercise that can exercise facial muscles and make the face tighter and more shapely. It can also improve lung capacity, exercise the abdomen, and achieve the goal of losing weight.

Consciously exercising facial muscles is certainly a good thing, but exercise also needs scientific guidance.

1. When doing facial muscle exercises, you should relax both mentally and physically.

2. Check your muscle movements in front of a mirror.

3. Concentrate your attention and allow your consciousness to move simultaneously with your muscles.

4. Move your muscles slowly and fully.

5. Be patient and persist in exercising every day.

6. Don't use too much force at the beginning.
