What is the cause of pustules in the eyes

What is the cause of pustules in the eyes

If you use your eyes for a long time without hygiene or do not get a good rest when your eyes are tired, it will cause some eye problems. A common phenomenon is the growth of pus in the eye, which is what we often call stye, scientifically called sty. Stye in the eye is related to our living habits and excessive fatigue, so we must protect our eyes in life.

1. How do we get stye and why does it hurt?

A stye is caused by a gland around the eyelid that becomes blocked and swells until a small sore appears. The sores fill with pus and may be painful. If it is an internal stye, because the inflammation is in the firmer tarsal plate tissue, the pain will be more severe and the inflammation will last longer. In severe cases, the entire eyelid will be red and swollen, and the preauricular lymph nodes on the affected side will be swollen and tender. Most patients suffer from this disease because of poor sanitary conditions in their working and living environment and weak physical constitution.

2. What are the main symptoms of stye?

The main symptoms of a stye are redness, swelling or pain at the site of the stye. It can also cause blurred vision, an urge to cry, and a feeling that there is always something in the eye.

3. Will a stye go away naturally?

Without any treatment, a stye will usually go away on its own within a week. If the abscess does not improve within a week, you should go to the hospital for treatment.

4. How to help heal a stye?

To cure a stye as soon as possible, remember to wash your hands before and after touching your eyes, and avoid direct contact of the affected area with any eye drops, ointments, or gels. Avoid wearing eye makeup until the swelling subsides.

5. How to treat stye?

In the early stages of a stye or before an abscess forms, you can apply local hot and wet compresses three times a day for 20 minutes each time. Hot compress can speed up blood circulation in the eyes and reduce swelling and relieve pain. Apply 0.25% chloramphenicol ointment or other antibiotic ointment to the conjunctival sac. 2 to 3 times a day. Those with systemic symptoms can take antibiotics or sulfonamides, or intramuscularly inject penicillin.

When the external hordeolum is softened but has not yet ruptured, anesthesia is not required and the pus can be drained by incision parallel to the eyelid margin. When the internal hordeolum has obvious pus heads on the membrane surface, drip

0.5% cacao was administered three times. After the surface was anesthetized, the tip of the knife was used to make an incision perpendicular to the eyelid margin to drain the pus.

During the treatment, pay attention to rest, do not eat irritating foods, drink water frequently and keep bowel movements smooth. If the stye does not subside for a long time and leaves a nodule, after the acute inflammation subsides, an incision can be made on the eyelid junction surface to scrape out the contents, and the residual capsule and granuloma can be cut off.

6. What can’t you do if you have a stye?

Patients with stye should never rub their eyes, especially in the summer when bacteria and viruses are rampant, and the climate is dry and windy, providing good conditions for the spread of bacteria and viruses. The eyes are exposed and are easily invaded by bacteria and viruses. If you do not pay attention to eye protection on a daily basis, it is easy to worsen the symptoms of stye in a very short time. Bad eye habits are the direct cause of stye. Do not rub your eyes often. Pay attention to eye hygiene after swimming and avoid excessive eye fatigue.
