Tips for preventing heatstroke and cooling down during the dog days

The weather is hot every day and many people are very afraid of heat. In this case, it would be very uncomfortable without the help of air conditioning. The chance of heatstroke during the dog days is very high, which is closely related to the temperature around people's bodies. Therefore, in this case, we still need to pay attention to cooling down. Although high temperatures are bothersome, there are many ways to prevent heatstroke and cool down during the dog days of summer.

1. Don’t drink too much when you are thirsty

After sweating a lot during work or exercise, you should not drink a lot of plain water. Instead, you should supplement with some light salt (sugar) water. This is because excessive sweating will cause the body to lose too much salt. If salt is not replenished in time, the water-salt ratio in the body will become seriously unbalanced, leading to metabolic disorders.

2. Avoid drinking too much

The human body is easily affected by the temperature in the summer and accumulates dampness and heat. Excessive dampness and heat are the cause of skin sores, carbuncles and swellings. Drinking a lot of white wine will increase heat and dampness, which is tantamount to adding fuel to the fire.

3. Keep anti-heat medicines on hand

The scorching heat of midsummer often makes people lose their appetite and sleep poorly, and they are prone to dizziness, headache, fatigue, and even nausea and vomiting. In order to spend the summer safely, families should prepare some anti-heat medicines. Common medicines and foods include: Shi Di Shui, Huoxiang Zhengqi Shui, cooling oil, honeysuckle, chrysanthemum, lotus leaf, and watermelon.

4. Learn to take a good nap

In summer, the days are long, the nights are short, and the weather is hot and humid, so we have less sleep time and poor sleep quality. If you can take a short nap in the afternoon, it is like recharging your brain and is beneficial to physical recovery.

5. Vigorous exercise

"Life lies in movement", but the elderly, the weak, and those who lack exercise should never do strenuous exercise, otherwise it will do more harm than good. It is a global consensus that the best exercise is walking.
