What clothes to wear to keep cool in hot weather

The biggest problem in summer is "heat", and people use different ways to cool down. Among them, clothing is also an issue worth exploring in depth. People would love to wear less to keep cool. In fact, it doesn't mean you won't feel hot if you wear less, but it depends on the material and color of the clothes. Dark clothes absorb heat, ice silk knitwear can block the sun, quick-drying clothes can absorb sweat, etc. Let's take a closer look at which clothes can keep you cool on hot days.

1. The hygroscopicity of clothing material has a great influence on how cool the clothing is. Clothes with good moisture absorption can absorb sweat from the human body in time and bring coolness to people through the evaporation of sweat. Therefore, it is best to choose clothes made from natural plant fibers such as cotton, linen, silk, etc. with good moisture absorption; some chiffon materials look thin, but are actually made of chemical fibers, which have poor air permeability and moisture absorption, and will make you feel stuffy when wearing them.

2. To judge the fabric of clothes, we mainly look at the ingredient label. Silk, linen, and cotton are of course very useful, but if you want to identify new synthetic fibers, you need to remember a few terms: new solvent-based fibers, Tencel, regenerated cellulose fibers, etc. These improved chemical fibers make clothing highly breathable. Additionally, thinner, more porous fabrics are cooler.

3. If you want to keep cool in summer, you must also consider the "air suction" and "air blowing" effects inside the clothes. The clothes should be made looser, especially the openings such as the collar, sleeves, and trouser legs. Flared skirts and dresses can produce a greater air blowing effect when walking, so they are cooler to wear.

4. Loose style not only liberates the body, but also maintains charm when matched properly. The loose rule is actually very simple. If the top is loose, match it with tight and shorter pants.

5. Please be careful when traveling. The less clothes you wear, the cooler you will be. In fact, going shirtless can only increase the skin's radiation and conduction heat dissipation when the skin temperature is higher than the ambient temperature. When the temperature approaches or exceeds 37°C, the skin not only cannot dissipate heat, but will absorb heat from the external environment. Therefore, going shirtless in midsummer and women wearing short skirts will feel hotter. Experts suggest that it is best to wear light-colored silk clothes when traveling.
