How to get a child to sleep quickly

When it is time to go to bed at night, some children don't like to sleep and still cling to their parents, which makes parents feel very helpless. It is not good for the children's physical development to go to bed late, so parents must learn some methods at this time to let the children fall asleep quickly and let the children develop the habit of going to bed on time. Before going to bed, parents can tell stories to the baby and use certain techniques to let the child fall asleep earlier.

How to get your child to sleep quickly

1. Create a bedtime routine. "I will make a list of things to do before going to bed for my child. For example, take a bath, drink a glass of water, say goodnight to the dog at home, and turn off the lights. When all the processes are completed, the child knows clearly that it is time to go to bed."

2. Tell your children that they can’t do anything in bed except reading. "A friend of mine told me that if you want your child to fall asleep, you should let him/her read in bed and not do anything else except reading. My child can't read now, but this trick is still very effective."

3. Let your child doodle on the bed. "My son is 4 and a half, and before bed I give him a blank notebook, a crayon and some stickers. He draws and draws and then falls asleep. 90% of the time, this trick works. And sometimes you wake up to see an amazing doodle."

4. Give children incentives and punishments. "If my daughter goes to bed on time, I will put a book and a stuffed toy at her bedside. They are my daughter's favorite. If she gets up once, I will take the book away. If she gets up again, I will take the stuffed toy away. In this way, my daughter quickly develops the habit of going to bed obediently."

5. Use a little lavender essential oil in the room. "When my daughter doesn't want to go to bed, I put some lavender essential oil on her feet. Then I read her a book, and she often falls asleep before I finish the story."

6. Give your child a special “sleeping blanket”. "My son has a blanket that he only uses at night when he goes to bed. He looks forward to going to bed because he can finally use his own blanket."

7. Countdown before going to bed. "Ten minutes before bedtime, we start a countdown. This helps my son calm down and stop all those crazy, excited behaviors so he can fall asleep quickly."

8. If all else fails... "If none of the above measures work, the simplest trick is to turn off the lights, turn off the TV, draw the curtains, and turn off your phone. Force yourself to lie in bed with your child without making any noise. He may roll around and make noise at first, but he will soon calm down."
