The first fragrant camellia

The fragrant camellia is also known as the thousand-mile fragrant camellia, with intoxicating fragrance and the reputation of the Fragrant Concubine Camellia. It belongs to the Camellia genus. Thunbergia camellia was introduced from the United States in recent years. It is a sun-loving plant with well-developed roots. The flowers are pink and bloom from January to April. The edges of the petals are slightly darker pink. The fragrant camellia is afraid of wind and likes sunshine. It grows in high and cool terrain, warm and humid soil with good air circulation, loose and fertile sandy loam, loess or humus soil. It is one of the high-end flower plants.

It is suitable for outdoor planting near windows, balconies, terraces, gardens, etc.

Advantages of scented camellia:

The fragrant camellia has the advantages of being cold-resistant, drought-resistant, and resistant to diseases and pests. Moreover, studies have found that Thunbergia odorifera can absorb 85% of formaldehyde in the air. The scent of thyme is refreshing, conducive to sleep, and can make people relax and happy. The volatile fragrance also has a significant bactericidal effect.

Second Camellia

Camellia (scientific name: Camellia sp.), also known as camellia, is a common name for many plants and horticultural varieties of the Theaceae family and Camellia genus. The petals are bowl-shaped and can be single or double. Single-petal camellias are mostly original species, while double-petal camellias can have up to 60 petals. Camellias come in varying shades of red, purple, white, and yellow, and there are even colorful spotted camellias, and the branches can reach up to 4 meters tall. It likes warm and humid environment. The flowering period is relatively long, from October to May of the following year, and the peak flowering period is usually from January to March.

Because camellia is not cold-resistant, delaying the flowering period is not commonly used. The flowering period is generally controlled by selecting varieties, temperature control, hormone treatment, etc. If you want the camellia to bloom in November, you can use a brush to dip 0.1% gibberellin and apply it on the flower buds in mid-July or early August. Apply it once every 3 days and manage fertilizer and water normally. In September, decide whether to paint the flower buds based on their growth. If it is estimated that flowering on November 1 is unreliable, increase the number of bud painting times and the amount of fertilizer and water to promote rapid growth of the flower buds so that flowers can be seen on November 1.
