What we usually call renal function is actually the metabolic capacity of the kidneys. Kidney deficiency is a manifestation of weak renal function. Of course, this situation is still relatively optimistic. The occurrence of certain diseases will also reduce renal function. In order to make a diagnosis, renal function tests are needed. Like the examination of many diseases, kidney function requires multiple tests to be accurately judged. So, what are the items in the blood test for kidney function? The general renal function test mainly includes three tests: 1. Examination of renal tubular secretion, reabsorption, concentration, dilution and acid-base balance functions. It mainly measures urine specific gravity, osmotic pressure, concentration and dilution tests, as well as pure water clearance, and checks the renal tubular acid-base balance function. 2. Examination reflecting the glomerular filtration function. It is mainly used to measure nitrogenous metabolites in the patient's blood and their renal clearance rate related to the glomerulus. 3. Examination reflecting renal blood flow. This mainly refers to the determination of the clearance rate of aminohippuric acid and the test of phenol red excretion. A comprehensive renal function test also includes 24-hour urine protein quantification and bilateral renal B-ultrasound. If the diagnosis cannot be confirmed, an ECT is required. However, since the type of some kidney diseases cannot be determined, they can be confirmed through renal puncture, which is a minor operation that can determine the type of kidney disease. Kidney function tests involve many aspects. Hospitals often use blood tests, such as checking BUN (urea), CTN (creatinine), etc. in the blood to understand kidney function. Renal function test notes 1. The most important procedure for renal function test is urine test. It is best to go to a regular tertiary hospital for renal function test. Choosing a good hospital will make people feel more at ease and can also ensure the scientific nature of the examination results. 2. Be sure to fast before doing a kidney function test, and it is best not to drink even water. This is because eating will affect blood sugar levels. Also, after a meal (especially a full meal), the gastrointestinal contents increase and the edge of the organ is not easy to display, which may lead to missing information and confuse the test results with the actual situation. Therefore, it is recommended that you do a kidney function test in the morning. Of course, there is no need to be a vegetarian for several days for a kidney function test. It is okay to eat eggs and tofu before the examination. 3. In terms of diet, it is recommended that you eat some kidney-tonifying foods regularly. Foods such as animal meat, eggs, bone marrow, black sesame, cherries, mulberries, and yam all have kidney-tonifying effects to varying degrees. |
