The dangers of using electric blankets

The dangers of using electric blankets

Electric blankets are more convenient to use in winter, especially when the room is cold. When using electric blankets, you must be aware of some precautions. After all, improper use of electric blankets can cause certain harm. This is mainly because electric blankets can generate a certain magnetic field, which can have a certain impact on the body's endocrine system. For women, it may cause endocrine disorders, and for men, it may cause adverse effects on the seminal vesicles.

1. The hazards of electric blankets

When the electric blanket is turned on, there will be a very low electromagnetic field, which will have some adverse effects on women's endocrine system and may even cause infertility in severe cases. The male testicles can only ensure the activity of sperm at a lower temperature. The heat generated by the electric blanket will have an adverse effect on the male's seminal vesicle over a long period of time, causing the male to have fewer sperm or weak sperm motility.

Children have greater physical vitality. As the saying goes, "children have three pots of fire on their buttocks", so they are not afraid of a cold bed. If they get used to the heat of electric blankets, their resistance to cold will decrease, their immunity will be reduced, and their growth and development will be affected. It is not recommended to use electric blankets. If you are really worried that they will feel cold, you can add a layer of towel blanket inside the quilt. The soft surface can reduce the cold feeling when the skin touches the quilt.

2. Electric blankets can easily cause fetal malformations

When people use electric blankets, even if the insulation resistance of the product is completely qualified, there will be induced voltage acting on the human body. Although this current is small, it is potentially dangerous to the elderly, infirm, heart patients, infants and young children. Pregnant women sleeping on electric blankets may also cause fetal malformations. These people can use hot water bottles or air conditioners to keep warm in winter, but it is best not to use electric blankets. Stroke patients, especially the elderly, have skin that is less sensitive to cold and heat, so overheating of the electric blanket can easily cause harm to the body.

3. Electric blankets can easily cause dermatitis

Electric blanket, also known as electric mattress, is an ideal warming product for families in winter. However, if used improperly, it can cause allergic dermatitis, especially in infants and young children. Using electric blankets for a long time can also easily cause dehydration. The occurrence of allergic dermatitis is, on the one hand, that the electric blanket continuously dissipates heat during use, causing the moisture in the human skin to evaporate and dry; on the other hand, it is due to the stimulation of the pyrogen itself to the skin, causing some people to have skin allergies, itching, or small papules of varying sizes on the body, which may bleed, become indurated, and desquamate after scratching. Most of these symptoms start from the back of the body and then gradually spread throughout the body. It often causes unbearable itching, making it difficult to sleep at night, and affecting rest and work.
