The simplest solution to itchy ears

The simplest solution to itchy ears

Itchy ears are not a serious disease, but they are very uncomfortable and will affect the patient's daily life and work. They may prevent you from concentrating on your work. Some people use cotton swabs to pick their ears, which is very wrong. If you use too much force, it will cause other serious consequences. Your ears will feel painful or even pus will appear. You should find the correct way to solve it.

Tips on how to deal with itchy ears

Dip a cotton swab in some alcohol and gently wipe the external auditory canal. It not only relieves itching, but also effectively kills bacteria and reduces inflammation. Alcohol is very volatile and will quickly dry up and return to normal.

What causes itchy ears?

Allergic constitution: Patients with allergic constitution or ear pus are prone to external auditory canal eczema. At the beginning, the ear canal becomes red and blisters appear, and yellow fluid oozes out after scratching. During the rainy season, unclean ear digging can bring fungi into the ear canal, causing itching and exudation symptoms similar to tinea pedis.

If your ears itch, keep your hands and mouth under control

You pick the ear when it itches, and the more you pick, the more itchy it becomes. The more it itches, the more you pick, and the cycle continues over and over again. It is not until there is fluid in the ear, swelling and pain, or even bleeding that you take it seriously. This method of relieving itching is the most undesirable. If there is a slight itch inside the ear, you can relieve the itch by gently massaging the outside of the ear. If it is extremely itchy, you can occasionally wipe it lightly with an alcohol swab as an emergency measure. If the itching is severe, it is best to see an ENT department of a regular hospital for proper treatment.

The right way to deal with it

It is best to use a cotton swab to gently rotate it in the external auditory canal, then turn the ear downward and the earwax will come out by itself; try not to use sharp objects such as fingernails or iron sticks to pick your ears. Do not form the habit of picking your ears frequently. Generally, you should pick your ears once a week or so. However, in dusty places or people with "oily ears", you can do it less frequently. You can decide according to your own situation. If you do not clean your ears for a long time, cerumen blockage may form. At this time, it will be difficult to remove it by yourself. You should go to the hospital to use special instruments to remove it. After removal, insist on using ear drops in the ears for 2-3 days to prevent infection. Generally speaking, earwax does not need to be removed manually. It will be automatically expelled with the movement of the jaw when talking, eating, or yawning, with the help of the sweat hairs on the skin.
