There are many factors that affect how long a restored tooth can be used. The specific condition of the customer's teeth, i.e. the degree, scope, location of tooth damage and the shape of the cavity. If the tooth is slightly damaged and covers a small area, you only need to remove the corrupted and necrotic tissue in the hole and prepare the hole shape, then you can perform a permanent filling, which can be used for many years. If the tooth is severely damaged or the hole is in a bad shape, the filling will easily fall off. Things to note after tooth filling

1. Within two or three days after the filling, do not eat on the filled side to avoid tooth fracture or filling material falling off, because most filling materials take some time to harden and fix.

2. Strictly follow the doctor's instructions. Different dental filling materials require different attention. For example, for silver-mercury materials, you cannot eat within 2 hours after filling; for resin materials, you cannot use a hard-bristled toothbrush within one week.

3. You may experience slight discomfort and pain after filling a tooth, which will generally disappear on its own. If the pain symptoms worsen, you should seek medical attention promptly.

4. For teeth with severe caries and large areas of defects, filling alone is not enough. You should protect the affected tooth crown in time according to the doctor's advice to prevent the crown from breaking.
