What is the reason for bone spurs on the wrist?

What is the reason for bone spurs on the wrist?

Bone spurs on the wrist are also called wrist bone hyperplasia. They are caused by long-term excessive wrist force or incorrect long-term exercise methods. They are generally more common in middle-aged and elderly people and people who write with their wrists for a long time. Wrist bone hyperplasia can be treated with medication, such as taking some analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs, or through acupuncture therapy.

Treatment

1. Western medicine treatment

:Western medicine has no effective treatment for this disease, and often uses symptomatic treatment, such as taking some antipyretic and analgesic items when in pain.

2. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

:Since this disease is a common and frequently occurring disease, and Western medicine has no ideal treatment method, Chinese medicine has been widely used in China to treat this disease with various methods, and great progress has been made.

3. Massage and traction

Massage helps improve local blood circulation and has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect; traction can reduce the pressure of bone spurs on local nerves and tissues and temporarily relieve pain.

4. Acupuncture

Acupuncture can promote blood circulation and relieve pain, and can eliminate local edema and inflammation, but for bone hyperplasia, acupuncture can only play an auxiliary role.

5. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

Traditional Chinese medicine is profound and extensive, and it has indeed demonstrated this in the treatment of diseases. Many diseases that cannot be cured by Western medicine can be easily cured by Chinese medicine plasters. Although the process is relatively long, it can eventually allow the patient to recover.

Family treatment measures

Bone hyperplasia is not that scary, it is just a natural physiological aging phenomenon of the human body. Bone hyperplasia is a layer of calcified substance formed by the repair and hardening of the bone surface where the muscles are attached after long-term and repeated muscle strain causes local wear, destruction and inflammation.

Whether bone hyperplasia will cause symptoms depends on whether it compresses the nerve roots or spine. If not, no uncomfortable symptoms will occur. If compression is caused on the blood vessels, dizziness will occur; if bone hyperplasia happens to compress nearby nerve roots or spine, symptoms such as hand pain, stiffness, difficulty bending over, and muscle weakness may occur.

Bone hyperplasia does not directly cause pain. The pain is often caused by inflammation, ischemia and hypoxia caused by muscle strain. It’s just that bone hyperplasia is located near or around the aseptic inflammation caused by muscles, so it is often mistaken for pain caused by bone hyperplasia. The pain can be relieved as long as local anti-inflammatory and analgesic treatments are actively carried out.

The key to treating bone hyperplasia is not to eliminate bone hyperplasia, but to eliminate the aseptic inflammation around bone hyperplasia. If there is pain, symptomatic treatment can be carried out with anti-inflammatory analgesics or blockade. Hot compresses, physical therapy, massage and traction can also be used to promote blood circulation, relax local muscles and relieve pain, or a small needle knife can be used to reduce pressure on nerves.

When elderly people find obvious bone hyperplasia, they should still do moderate exercise, but avoid long-term strenuous exercise, because long-term strenuous exercise can cause uneven force and excessive load on the bones and surrounding soft tissues, thereby aggravating pain. At the same time, pay attention to keep warm.
