What should I do if I get a fever after getting the pentavalent vaccine

During the child's growth process, vaccinations are absolutely necessary, and the vaccines to be administered at different stages are different. Pentavalent vaccine is also a common vaccine, but some parents will find that their children have a fever after receiving the pentavalent vaccine. If it is a mild fever, then there is no need to worry, because this shows that the baby's immune system has been exercised.

1. Generally speaking, fever after vaccination is a normal immune reaction of the body. As long as it does not last long (generally not more than 24 hours) and the temperature is not high (not exceeding 38°C), there will be no problem. If it lasts for a long time or the temperature is too high, you should pay attention to whether the fever is caused by other problems.

2. Vaccines are biological products made from various pathogenic microorganisms for vaccination. When the immune system fights pathogenic microorganisms, the body will have a fever. A mild fever also proves that your baby's immune system is being exercised.

3. In case of fever after vaccination, parents should take the following measures:

1. You should check the degree of fever. Generally, the body temperature is below 38.5℃ and the baby has no other obvious discomfort. No special treatment is needed because this fever is a normal reaction and will disappear within a short time.

2. If the body temperature is above 38.5℃ and accompanied by general discomfort, take your baby to see a doctor in time. Use a small dose of antipyretics under the doctor's guidance, and let your baby drink plenty of water. This type of fever after vaccination usually lasts for a short time and is a reactive fever, so antibiotics are not necessary for treatment.

3. If the fever persists or tends to gradually increase, take your baby to the doctor in time. Consider whether other infections have occurred during this period and give appropriate anti-infection treatment measures under the guidance of a doctor.
