Does genital warts have symptoms similar to those of papules?

Genital warts are a typical genital system disease. In fact, it is a sexually transmitted disease. The main route of transmission is through sexual intercourse. In addition to these, genital warts can also be transmitted through personal items and public property. The transmission mechanism of genital warts is very strong. It can be directly infected through blood and secretions, and can cause others to spread to others. The papules and hydrocephalus that are formed at the beginning will eventually slowly expand.

Symptoms and signs

1. History of unclean sexual intercourse.

2. Typical skin lesions are papules, nipple-shaped, cauliflower-shaped or cockscomb-shaped fleshy growths with rough and keratinized surfaces in moist areas such as the genitals or perianal area.

3. The acetic acid white test is positive, and pathological sections show poor keratinization and concave cells.

4. Nucleic acid hybridization can detect HPV-DNA related sequences, and PCR detection can reveal specific HPV-DNA amplification bands.

The incubation period is about 3 months, with the shortest being 3 weeks and the longest being more than 8 months, with an average of 3 months. It mainly affects sexually active people, with the peak incidence being between 20 and 25 years old. Whether the disease develops after sexual contact with a patient with genital warts depends largely on the amount of virus inoculated and the body's specific immunity. Some authors have also observed that the infectiousness of genital warts decreases with increasing age.

Preventive Care

Controlling sexually transmitted diseases is the best way to prevent CA. Patients and their sexual partners should be identified and treated; health education and sexual behavior control should be carried out; condoms can prevent HPV infection, and there is currently no effective vaccine.

During the first three months after treatment of condyloma acuminatum, patients should be advised to follow up every two weeks. If there are special circumstances (such as new skin lesions or bleeding on the wound), they should see a doctor at any time so as to receive appropriate clinical treatment in time. At the same time, patients should be informed to pay attention to the common sites of skin lesions and observe carefully for recurrence. Recurrence often occurs in the first three months. After three months, the follow-up interval can be appropriately extended according to the patient's specific situation, until 6 months after the last treatment.

The criterion for curing genital warts is the disappearance of the warts after treatment. Currently, most scholars believe that if there is no recurrence within 6 months after treatment, the chance of recurrence is reduced.
