Does the three shots of rabies vaccine contain antibodies?

Does the three shots of rabies vaccine contain antibodies?

As we all know, the full course of rabies vaccination in the hospital is 5 injections. So will 3 injections of rabies vaccine produce antibodies? The answer is of course it can be produced, but if the dosage of the three rabies vaccines is too different from that of the five rabies vaccines, only a small amount of antibodies will be produced, which may not be enough to fight the rabies virus that invades the human body. In addition, it should be noted that the rabies vaccine injection will not cause any harm to pregnant women and unborn babies, and can be injected safely and with confidence.

Rabies is caused by bites from sick dogs, infected dogs or cats. The rabies virus enters the bloodstream and spreads along the nerves, entering the central nervous system and causing the disease. The incubation period varies in length. If the wound cannot be sutured, it is necessary to perform debridement in time. It is important to wash the wound with soapy water and get vaccinated in time. If the wound is large and located on the fingers, head, or face, antivenom serum needs to be injected. Rabies can be prevented. When it occurs, the patient will suffer from hydrophobia and aerophobia. There is currently no successful case of cure. Currently, there is no medical test indicator that can indicate infection with the rabies virus.

There is only one serotype of rabies virus, and the antigenic properties of rabies virus are the same around the world. After vaccination with rabies vaccine, anti-rabies virus antibodies may appear in human blood. These antibodies can prevent the virus from spreading directly between cells and reduce the amount of virus proliferation. At the same time, they can also eliminate free rabies viruses and prevent the virus from reproducing and spreading, thereby preventing rabies.

The production of antibodies relies on rabies vaccines to stimulate the body's immune system to produce an immune response. In the process of producing an immune response, each vaccination will further activate the immune system to produce more antibodies, so it is required to get 5 shots of vaccine within a month in order to produce antibodies as quickly as possible to eliminate the virus.

However, due to the different dosages of rabies vaccines from different manufacturers and the different severity of animal injuries, some may require 3 shots and some may require 5 shots.

After the first injection of rabies vaccine, the human immune system begins to synthesize antibodies under the stimulation of the vaccine; with the continuous injection of the vaccine, the antibody concentration in the body will gradually increase; when the vaccine injection is completed, the antibody concentration in the body is sufficient to fight the invading rabies virus. Therefore, as long as you start injecting rabies vaccine, it can play an effective preventive role and you can rest assured. Within six months after completing the rabies vaccination (including full injection and booster shot), your body will have sufficient antibodies to fight against the invading rabies virus; rabies vaccine can effectively prevent the occurrence of rabies. Even if you have only received three doses of rabies vaccine, your body can still produce a certain amount of antibodies, but the concentration of the antibodies will be lower than that of a full course of rabies vaccine injection.
