Many people find purple spots on their legs, so they should be alert to whether it is purpura. Purpura is a common skin papule, and the lesions can affect the gastrointestinal tract, joints and kidneys. The most common type of purpura is allergic purpura, and the incidence of this disease has been gradually increasing in recent years. Patients with allergic purpura all have allergic constitutions, so in the treatment of allergic purpura, desensitization treatment should be emphasized. What causes purple spots on legs? Purple spots on the legs may be purpura. You can look at the third situation below. There are four main types of purpura based on clinical manifestations: (1) Simple purpura generally has no systemic symptoms. Scattered bright red bruises the size of a needle tip may appear on both lower limbs and do not fade when pressed. After seven days, the color gradually fades and disappears. But new petechiae appear. (2) Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura can be divided into acute and chronic types. The acute type is less common and can occur in children, often with a history of infection before the onset of the disease. The disease is characterized by sudden onset, fever, extensive skin bleeding, large ecchymoses and hematomas, mucosal and urogenital bleeding, and a significant decrease in platelets, which may be less than 5,000/mm3. The chronic type is more common, more common in young women, with a slow onset and persistent or recurrent bleeding. Severe bleeding may occur not only on the skin, but also on the mucous membranes or internal organs. (3) Rheumatic purpura: Slightly raised rice-sized ecchymoses appear on both lower limbs. Petechiae, wheals, or edematous erythema may also appear. At the same time, there may be swollen and painful joints, as well as systemic symptoms such as fever and weakness in the limbs. (4) Abdominal purpura has the same skin manifestations as rheumatic purpura, but may also cause abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, tenesmus, bloody stools, and in severe cases, intussusception. Note : If spots appear on the legs, you should pay attention to the possibility of purpura and go for a check-up in time. If it is purpura, you should actively treat it. In particular, patients with allergic purpura should stay away from allergens. Desensitization treatment is the key to preventing the onset of the disease and curing it. |
