What supplements are given after surgery

What supplements are given after surgery

No matter whether the patient undergoes a major or minor surgery, it will cause certain damage to the patient's body, so the patient needs a longer time to recover after the surgery. Due to social reasons, if someone around you has undergone surgery, you need to go to the hospital to visit them. When visiting the hospital, in order to express your sincere wishes for the patients, you should buy some supplements for the surgical patients. What supplements are suitable for surgical patients?

Easily absorbed supplements

During the operation, anesthetics are generally used, so when the operation is over, the patient's gastrointestinal function is still very weak, so we can choose some supplements that are easier to absorb.

1. Whitebait and tofu soup. 30 grams of whitebait, 1 piece of tofu, and an appropriate amount of minced meat, cook the three ingredients together into tofu soup, one dose per day.

2. Ginseng porridge. 30 grams of ginseng, 50 grams of polished rice, and an appropriate amount of brown sugar, simmer over low heat, one dose per day, divided into two doses and taken while hot, for 10-15 consecutive days.

3. Chicken stewed with soft-shelled turtle. Take a chicken and a turtle. Stew the chicken first, then put the cleaned turtle into the pot. Add appropriate seasonings and simmer over low heat. Take one dose per day.

4. Milk oatmeal porridge. Heat 100 grams of oatmeal and 150 grams of milk together for two minutes and you can eat it at any time.

Supplements for wound healing

The wound is prone to infection after surgery, so it is best to take some supplements that can help the wound heal faster.

1. Vitamin E. Vitamin E can maintain animal reproductive function and promote wound healing; when vitamin E and vitamin C are used together, the two will complement each other and enhance their effects. Foods containing vitamin E include cereals, green leafy vegetables, egg yolks, nuts, meat and dairy products.

2. Protein. Protein can promote wound healing and reduce the chance of infection. Foods rich in protein include various lean meats, milk, eggs, etc.

3. Glucose. Sugar is the main energy provider for the human body, and supplying adequate energy is essential for wound healing. During the wound healing period, you can eat more fruits rich in sugar, which can not only increase the sugar content but also provide sufficient vitamins.

4. Zinc. Zinc can combine with vitamin C to participate in the synthesis of collagen in the body, increase resistance and promote wound healing. Foods containing zinc include corn, soybeans, radishes, mushrooms, nuts, animal liver, fungus, kelp, seafood, eggs, meat, whole grains, and nuts.

5. Vitamin A. Can promote wound healing. It is mainly found in foods such as carrots and tomatoes.

Warm reminder: Friends who have bad habits such as smoking and drinking must abstain from smoking and drinking after surgery.

At the same time, because the gastrointestinal receptivity is relatively weak after surgery, you should try not to eat spicy and irritating foods, such as onions, garlic, ginger, peppers, chili peppers, cinnamon, etc.; also try not to eat foods that are difficult to digest, such as nuts and greasy foods; you should also have a regular diet after surgery, you cannot have one meal full and one meal hungry, and you cannot overeat or force yourself to eat, as these are not conducive to your body's recovery.
