What is the manifestation of heart weakness

What is the manifestation of heart weakness

Many patients often experience dizziness, each time lasting for a few seconds. They are prone to falling and becoming unstable when they are too excited. In this case, we should consider insufficient blood supply to the heart and lungs, insufficient blood supply to the brain, and slow heartbeat, which will lead to heart weakness. It is precisely because of the slow heartbeat that the myocardium is weak and causes dizziness and headaches. When dealing with this problem, we must find appropriate treatment methods to avoid complications caused by heart weakness. We should go to the hospital for examination in time to find the cause of the disease and treat it. Patients with heart disease need to maintain their condition through medication. Try not to have surgery in the early stages because it can hurt the heart.

Clinical manifestations

Acute heart failure

In acute heart failure, sick animals often show severe breathing difficulties, bulging eyes, unstable gait, sudden collapse, and paroxysmal convulsions, and often die within seconds to minutes after the onset of symptoms. Patients with a long course of illness are extremely depressed, unable to get up from the ground, have loss of appetite, conjunctival cyanosis, distended superficial veins, sweating all over the body, and severe dyspnea. Due to pulmonary edema, there are widespread bubbling sounds on auscultation of the lung area, and a large amount of nasal fluid containing fine foam flows from both nostrils. The heart beats rapidly, the first heart sound is loud, the second heart sound is extremely weak and almost inaudible, or there is severe bradycardia, arrhythmia, irregular pulse, and a weak pulse that is almost unfelt by hand. Death usually occurs within 12 to 24 hours.

Chronic heart failure

Chronic heart failure, sick animals are depressed, have a loss of appetite, are unwilling to exercise, have reduced working ability, and are prone to fatigue and sweating. It takes longer for your breathing and pulse rates to return to normal after exercise. As the disease progresses, the sick animals lose weight, have faster heart rate (up to 130 beats/min for cattle at rest), the first heart sound becomes stronger, the second heart sound weakens, and sometimes a relatively incomplete systolic murmur and arrhythmia occur. The area of cardiac dullness on percussion of the heart is enlarged. In left heart failure, there is obvious dyspnea and conjunctival cyanosis. In right heart failure, the jugular veins are distended, there is edema under the chin, neck, chest, abdomen and lower limbs, the liver is enlarged, and its caudate process often protrudes behind the right costal arch. Due to congestion and hypoxia in various tissues and organs, diarrhea and cough may also occur, protein, renal epithelial cells and casts may appear in the urine, as well as symptoms such as slow reaction, perceptual disorders, and convulsions.

Cardiac X-ray examination and M-mode echocardiography can often reveal an enlarged heart, thickened ventricular muscle, or enlarged ventricular cavity.

In dogs with chronic heart failure, plasma alertness and norepinephrine levels increase significantly, and the degree of increase is directly related to the severity of the disease. In severe cases, the level is 1109 ± 610.3 pmol/L, while in mild cases it is 527.06 ± 360.62 pmol/L, while in healthy dogs it is only 210.82 ± 91.54 pmol/L (Knowlen et al., 1983). The plasma norepinephrine concentration also increases significantly, and is positively correlated with its clinical severity (Ware et al., 1990). In addition, the atrial natriumtic peptide (ANP) content in Holstein cows with severe heart failure increased significantly to 73.3 ± 16.02 pmol/L (normal cows: 14.5 ± 1.84 pmol/L) (TakeII111ra et al., 1991); a similar situation was also observed in dogs, with the ANP content in dogs with heart failure increased to 52.9 ± 29.75 fmol/ml (normal dogs: 8.3 + 3.5 fmol/ml) (Vollmar et al., 1991). In sick horses, serum LDH components are very significantly elevated (Nuytten et al., 1988).

When foxes suffer from congestive heart failure, they almost always die after a brief period of respiratory distress (Onderka, 1989).
