The best treatment for burns, save it now!

The best treatment for burns, save it now!

As the weather becomes colder in winter, people are surrounded by boiling water, water heaters, and heating stoves, which increase the chance of scalding. Many parents fail to supervise their children in time, which may cause their children to be accidentally scalded while playing. After a scald occurs, do not choose to use folk remedies for treatment immediately. While taking your child to the hospital for timely treatment, you should also master these measures.

In the cold winter, people use boiling water, water heaters, heating stoves, etc. more frequently, so the chance of children getting scalded is greater.

Burns in children are one of the most difficult accidents to deal with. Firstly, burns are often extremely painful and can easily lead to infection, which in severe cases can endanger the child's life. Secondly, burns can easily leave large scars, which will not only affect the physiological functions but also the appearance, causing great psychological trauma to the child. In addition, children are ignorant, lively and hyperactive, which also makes them more susceptible to burns.

Remember, there are five things parents must do after their child is scalded: rinse, remove, soak, cover, and send the child away.

01 Rush

When a child is scalded, immediately rinse the affected area with running cold water for 15 to 30 minutes! The purpose is to take away the heat from the burned area as quickly as possible and reduce tissue damage!

Flushing with cold water is the most critical step in treating burns and is the first choice. The sooner the better! Never trust folk remedies and rush to apply toothpaste, soy sauce, gentian violet, etc., as this will not only easily cause infection, but also hinder the doctor from observing the severity of the burn and increase the difficulty of cleaning the wound.

It should be noted that:

Use cold water that is about the same temperature as room temperature. The colder the water is, the better. Do not use ice compress, otherwise it will aggravate skin damage and affect healing. The water flow should be moderate, and do not burst the blisters too quickly. If the burned area is on the face and it is not convenient to rinse with water, then use a towel soaked in cold water for a cold compress (not ice compress).

02 Take off

After the child's pain has subsided after flushing with cold water for a sufficient amount of time, try to gently remove the clothes on the burned area. If it is inconvenient, cut them open with scissors.

It should be noted that:

Be sure to be gentle when taking off clothes, because sometimes clothes will stick to the child's skin. Forcibly taking them off can easily break blisters or even tear off a piece of flesh, worsening the injury. If the clothes are stuck and difficult to remove, keep the stuck part and just remove the surrounding clothes.

After a child is scalded, the best treatment time is only 2 minutes! Moms must know these first aid measures!

03 Bubble

After completing the first two steps, if it is only a small area of scald, you can soak the child in a basin of cold water (not ice water) for about half an hour to relieve pain and stabilize the child's emotions.

It should be noted that:

If the child's burn area is relatively large, do not soak the child for a long time, otherwise it will easily lead to loss of body temperature, causing unnecessary colds or other adverse conditions; still, do not apply anything to the child.

04 Cover

Gently cover the burned area with a piece of sterile gauze. If you don't have sterile gauze at home, you can use a dry and clean towel, but never use anything with hair or flocs, as these things can easily stick to the wound.

It is important to note: still do not apply anything to children.

05Send

After the above four steps, you can go to the hospital for treatment. Keep warm during the medical treatment and do not apply anything.
