What does urine protein mean

What does urine protein mean

Urine protein is a type of protein that is precipitated through testing of the patient's urine. For healthy people, the urine protein test panel is generally negative. If it is positive after testing, it means that the amount of urine protein excreted by the human body has increased, which often indicates that the patient's kidney function has some lesions. This is also a common examination method for patients with kidney disease.

1. Clinical significance

If protein continues to be present in the urine, it should be considered pathological. It is common in acute and chronic nephritis, nephrotic syndrome caused by various reasons, urinary tract infections (such as pyelonephritis, cystitis, and renal tuberculosis), and other conditions include febrile diseases, heart failure, hypertensive nephropathy, diabetic nephropathy, renal vascular hypertension, hyperthyroidism, systemic lupus erythematosus, sepsis, leukemia, multiple myeloma, preeclampsia, and after the use of drugs that damage the kidneys.

People who need testing: Auxiliary diagnosis of various diseases in clinical practice.

2. Notes

Before the examination: Do not engage in strenuous exercise, heavy physical labor, or take foods high in protein

During the examination: relax your body and eliminate tension and anxiety
