What are the dangers of cystic and solid nodules

What are the dangers of cystic and solid nodules

There are generally five types of thyroid nodules, one of which is a cystic-solid nodule, which is a lump that appears round in appearance, has a relatively smooth surface, and contains fluid. Under normal circumstances, there is no pain or only a slight pain, and the lump will move when swallowing. Now let me introduce the dangers of thyroid cystic nodules.

1. Panic, shortness of breath, insomnia and nightmares

When nodules cause hyperthyroidism, people are likely to experience palpitations, shortness of breath, insomnia and nightmares, which seriously affect work efficiency and even cause loss of ability to work.

2. Blindness due to exophthalmos

Exophthalmos is a typical symptom of hyperthyroidism, manifested by bulging eyes, inability to close eyelids tightly, binocular diplopia and other lesions. In severe cases, there is a risk of blindness.

3. Bad temper

They are irritable, speak loudly and harshly, often show signs of losing their temper, easily quarrel with others, and greatly harm social relationships.

4. Affecting the couple’s life

Many female patients with thyroid disease have menstrual disorders, even chanting, low libido, and difficulty getting pregnant; male patients are prone to loss of libido, impotence, premature ejaculation, and infertility.

5. Hand tremors

Thyroid disease causes muscle weakness, which manifests as mild muscle weakness and atrophy. It may be accompanied by subtle tremors for a long time, affecting the activity of tendon reflexes and shortening reflex time.

6. Heart disease

The hearts of patients with hyperthyroidism are affected by thyroid hormones for a long time, which can easily cause cardiac enlargement, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and even endanger their lives.

7. Liver damage

Thyroid disease causes a significant increase in the rate of thyroid metabolism, leading to an increase in liver glycogen, excessive consumption of various nutrients, and ultimately liver disease.
