There are always some diseases in life that make us suffer. For example, many people have experienced such a time. They have just defecated, but still feel that the stool is not completely discharged, and they still feel like they want to defecate, and often there is a feeling of heaviness and swelling in the anus. Because the location of such a disease is relatively special, many times we feel embarrassed to say it out loud. Now let’s talk about what is going on with anal heaviness and swelling and the urge to defecate. 1. Anorectal malignant tumors: Anal distension usually occurs in the middle and late stages of the disease, accompanied by frequent urge to defecate, tenesmus, or bloody and purulent stools. Emaciation, fatigue, and hard masses or tenderness can be felt in the anal canal or rectum. There is often bloody and purulent odor on the finger cot. Tissue biopsy can help with diagnosis. 2. Rectal prolapse: Internal rectal prolapse refers to the condition in which the entire layer of the proximal rectal wall or just the mucosal layer is folded into the distal intestinal cavity or anal canal without exceeding the outer edge of the anus during defecation and persists after the feces are discharged. The most prominent symptoms are time-consuming and laborious defecation, anal distension, increased frequency of bowel movements, and incomplete emptying of the rectum. Other common symptoms include mucus and blood in the stool, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and abnormal urination. 3. Perianal abscess: The onset is acute and easy to misdiagnose because some abscesses are located deep. The lesions mostly occur in the area innervated by the autonomic nerves. The pain is often not obvious and manifests as heaviness, pain or rectal irritation. Only then will there be a feeling of heaviness in the anus. 4. Rectal and anal sinus inflammation: Inflammation is one of the main causes of anal swelling. The course of the disease varies. It manifests as frequent urge to defecate, aggravated swelling during defecation or radiating to the sacrum and coccyx, causing soreness, swelling or thin stools or stools with a small amount of mucus and blood. During rectal examination, if it is proctitis, it can be seen that the mucosa of the middle and lower rectum is congested and edematous, or there is a large amount of secretions attached, or there are ulcers and bleeding; if it is anal sinusitis, the diseased anal sinus opening is congested or a small amount of purulent secretions overflow. Pressing this area will cause a sore and swollen feeling. If anal swelling occurs, don't be shy to go to the hospital for consultation and examination. Early treatment will give you peace of mind. |
