What are the symptoms of urticaria?

Urticaria is a relatively common skin disease with obvious symptoms, such as redness and swelling of the skin. Some of the redness and swelling are patchy and have no specific shape. There will be a congestion point in the center of urticaria damage, so as long as the patient pays more attention, it is easy to find and treat it in time.

1. Flat, red, yellowish or pale edematous patches with red edges are one of the symptoms of urticaria. Sometimes, the wheals are ring-shaped and can be called annular urticaria. Several adjacent annular lesions can be connected or merged to form a map-like shape, which can be called a symptom of graphic urticaria.

2. There are bruises in the center of the lesion, which can be called hemorrhagic urticaria, and the kidneys and gastrointestinal tract may be accompanied by bleeding. When there are blisters in the wheals, it is called vesicular urticaria. When there are bullae, it is called bullous urticaria. Sometimes, blisters or bullae develop on seemingly normal skin, but symptoms of hives often include redness. This type of hives is more likely to occur in children.

3. The wheals cause severe itching, tingling or burning sensation, but the severity of each person's urticaria symptoms varies. Severe patients have symptoms of systemic urticaria such as headache and fever. Especially for patients with acute urticaria, the fever may reach about 40°C, the blood pressure may drop, and even fainting and shock may occur, which must be treated in time. Most patients only have itchy wheals without other symptoms.
