1. Identification method of dyed bird's nest:

The so-called dyed bird’s nests are mostly made by dyeing cheap white bird’s nests into red or yellow and selling them as high-priced blood bird’s nests or yellow bird’s nests. After stewing for one or two hours, this type of fake blood bird's nest and fake yellow bird's nest becomes as soft and rotten as white bird's nest, and the red or yellow color is completely lost in the water. The real blood bird's nest and yellow bird's nest have natural colors and generally do not change color after stewing. However, some particles will dissolve in the water. The bird's nest soup may appear light red or yellow, but the color of the bird's nest silk remains almost unchanged. At the same time, due to the rich nutrients and minerals in blood bird's nest, the texture of real blood bird's nest remains firm after long-term stewing.

2. Identification method of seaweed bird's nest:

It is often seen in bird's nest cakes or bird's nest shreds on the market. There are mixtures of real and fake ones, as well as 100% artificial bird's nests made from seaweed that has been bleached, dried and boiled. The color is solid white, less lustrous, rough and hard, and has a seaweed smell, while natural bird's nest bars are transparent, shiny, and have no peculiar smell.

3. Look: The middle part of the bird's nest is a filamentous structure, and the corner part is a flake structure; the pure bird's nest is not completely transparent but translucent whether it is soaked or viewed under the light.

4. Touch: Take a small piece of bird's nest and soak it in water. After it becomes soft, take a silk strip and pull it. If it has poor elasticity and breaks easily when pulled, it is a fake. Rub it with your fingers. If it has no elasticity and can be rubbed into a paste, it is also a fake. But after it is fully expanded, it has no elasticity. If it still has good elasticity, then it is fake.
