How to care for succulent plants?

Succulent plants are also called succulents. There are many types of succulents, and the maintenance methods are also different. Generally, common succulents do not like exposure to the sun, so it is best to place them in a cool place. When watering, be sure to water them thoroughly. It is common sense to choose soil that is not easy to clump and has good drainage.

Cultivation methods

There are many varieties of succulents with different habits, and the cultivation methods cannot be generalized. The general cultivation method is as follows:

illumination

Be careful of prolonged exposure to high temperatures in the summer. Succulent plant tissue cells are thick and dissipate heat slowly, which can easily cause sunburn on the leaves. Full sunlight in other seasons helps plant growth. (There are many plants that need shade, such as the tender green and transparent 12-volume plants, so be careful of sunburn)

Moisture

Water when the soil is dry and make sure to water thoroughly. Do not expose to the sun after watering, place in a cool place with low light.

temperature

The most suitable temperature is 15℃~28℃, and the maximum temperature that the plant can tolerate is 5℃~35℃.

Air

Ventilation is very important, and ventilation should be strengthened on hot summer nights.

soil

Soil that is breathable, well-drained, and not prone to caking. It is best to use granular soil such as Akadama soil and Kanuma soil, combined with media such as pine scales, volcanic rocks, peat, and vermiculite.

Crassulaceae cultivation

Many plants in the Crassulaceae family are not afraid of the sun and like strong sunlight. As long as the maximum temperature is not higher than 35℃, it doesn’t matter even if they are exposed to the sun.
