Symptoms of malnutrition, information you can understand at a glance

Malnutrition is a common intestinal disease. Most patients have pale complexion, thin body, weak body, loss of appetite and listlessness. There is an old saying about malnutrition: "There is no malnutrition without accumulation, and accumulation is the mother of malnutrition." An unhealthy diet can easily cause malnutrition. Most modern people have irregular diets and eat a lot of greasy and spicy food. Resulting in frequent occurrence of malnutrition.

Diagnosis of rickets:

(1) Patients with obvious spleen and stomach dysfunction such as abnormal diet, irregular stool, or abdominal distension.

(2) The body is thin, with body weight 15-40% lower than the normal average, dull complexion, sparse and dry hair, and in severe cases, the hair is dry and thin.

(3) The patient may also be listless, or have a bad temper, be irritable, or like to rub his eyebrows and eyes, or suck his fingers and grind his teeth.

(4) A history of improper feeding, eating disorders after illness, and long-term weight loss.

(5) Ascaris is caused by Ascaris lumbricoides, which is called “ascaris lumbricoides”. Ascaris eggs can be found in stool microscopy.

(6) For anemia, the hemoglobin and red blood cells decrease.

(7) Limb edema is nutritional edema, with total serum protein levels below 45 g/L and serum albumin levels below 20 g/L.

Classification of malnutrition syndrome:

(1) Malnutrition: The patient appears slightly emaciated and has a slightly sallow complexion. The patient has a poor appetite or eats a lot and has frequent bowel movements. The stools are dry or loose, the patient is listless and prone to temper tantrums. The tongue coating is greasy and the pulse is thin and smooth. It is more common in the early stage of the disease.

(2) Malnutrition: The patient is noticeably emaciated, with a distended abdomen, with veins exposed, a sallow complexion, sparse and easily falling hair, and irritability. Or you may see them rubbing their eyebrows and picking their noses, sucking their fingers and grinding their teeth, and having a loss of appetite. Or the patient may be good at eating and easily hungry, and have worms in the stool. Or they may like to eat foreign objects such as raw rice and soil. The tongue is pale, the coating is light yellow and greasy, and the pulse is moist, thin and slippery. It is more common in the middle stage of the disease.

(3) Dry chancre: Extremely thin, skin and bones, looking like an old man, with dry and wrinkled skin, listlessness, crying weakly, and no tears. Limb swelling may be seen. Or there may be purpura, epistaxis, bleeding from the teeth, etc. The tongue is pale or bright red with little fluid, and the pulse is weak. It is more common in the late stage of the disease.

Symptoms of rickets:

(1) Internal accumulation of milk and food: Pale face, irritability and frequent crying, restless sleep, loss of appetite, abdominal distension, loose and sour stool or constipation, short yellow urine or rice-like urine, accompanied by low fever. The tongue is red, the coating is greasy, the pulse is slippery and rapid, and the fingerprints are purple and stagn

(2) Spleen deficiency with accumulation: Pale complexion, thin body, drowsiness and weakness, restless sleep at night, no appetite for milk or food, abdominal distension and preference for lying prone, loose stools. The lips and tongue are pale red, the tongue coating is white and greasy, the pulse is thin and slippery, and the fingerprints are light and sluggish.
