Does folliculitis itch? How to deal with it?

Folliculitis is a common clinical disease and has a certain impact on people's bodies. Folliculitis can occur locally, and treatment should be targeted. Folliculitis has obvious itching symptoms. In this case, it is recommended to use external medication for treatment and pay attention to the cleanliness of the affected area.

1. Folliculitis patients often feel itching in the affected area, which is also a very common phenomenon in the course of the disease. Folliculitis often manifests as scattered, rice-sized, bright red or dark red follicular papules at the onset, with hair running through the center and an inflammatory red halo around the edges. Pustules will then form quickly but will not fuse with each other. No scars will be left after the local inflammation subsides. Folliculitis tends to occur on the head, but other hairy parts can also be affected.

2. Although folliculitis is not a very serious skin disease, this disease cannot be underestimated. We need to detect and treat it early. If folliculitis develops deeply, it will form scars and permanent hair loss. The most common sites of skin lesions are the patient's hair, neck, chest, back and buttocks. For patients who are exposed to certain chemical or physical factors, it is more likely to occur in the contact areas. Local lymph nodes may swell, and occurrence on the head and face will seriously affect the appearance.

3. First of all, pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene, and avoid scratching and other stimulations. Patients should try to eat less spicy and irritating foods, animal fats, eat more vegetables and fruits, and maintain daily bowel movements. You can try applying erythromycin ointment and washing frequently with hot water. Also, be careful not to squeeze it, otherwise it will easily cause the infection to spread. You can also take a little antibiotic orally.
