Can Hepatitis C be cured?

Hepatitis C is currently mainly treated with interferon, but we all know that the choice of any treatment method needs to be determined based on the patient's actual condition, and we must follow the doctor's advice to choose a scientific and effective treatment method.

1. For the treatment of hepatitis C, interferon is the only one that is recognized as effective both at home and abroad. It should also be treated early. During the recovery period of acute hepatitis C, 3 million units of interferon can be used, 3 times a week, by subcutaneous injection, for one year or even longer. More than 70% of patients can be cured, which can greatly reduce the number of chronic hepatitis C patients. If the acute stage is not treated in time, about 60% of the infected people will develop chronic hepatitis C, and the possibility of self-healing in the future is very small. For chronic hepatitis C, in addition to interferon, you can also take ribavirin tablets at the same time (0.15 grams per tablet, 0.3 grams each time, 3 to 4 times a day, it is advisable to start with a small dose to reduce gastrointestinal reactions). Compared with the effective rate of about 40% of interferon alone, the efficacy is improved by 10% to 20%.

2. The third-generation interferon currently produced in the world is a kind of interferon synthesized by scientists from several naturally produced interferon subtypes by recombining the active ingredients of each type. The trade name is Ganfujin, which has been proven to have a good effect in treating chronic hepatitis C. The dosage is 9 to 15 micrograms each time, 3 times a week, and the course of treatment is 12 months.

3. It can be seen that the key to blocking the development of chronic hepatitis C is to treat the pathogen. In the process of controlling and eliminating the pathogen, it should also be recognized that there will be damage to the liver tissue. Therefore, for patients treated with interferon, attention should be paid to case selection, and regular follow-up should be conducted during the treatment. It is best to ask an experienced doctor to dynamically observe the response and efficacy of the treatment, as well as observe changes in the liver by B-ultrasound, in order to adjust the dosage and control the course of treatment.
