So will drinking water before a physical examination affect blood sugar? What else should I pay attention to during the physical examination?

Experts say that on the day of the physical examination, you can drink 200 ml of water (a normal-sized glass of water) after getting up in the morning, which will not affect the results of the physical examination. However, it should be noted that the time to drink water here mainly refers to the time before the physical examination, which is preferably more than half an hour. Moreover, the amount of water you drink should not be too much, otherwise it may affect the blood sugar monitoring results.

In addition, you should not drink sugary drinks because they will increase your blood sugar level and affect your blood sugar test results.

Other physical examination notes:

1. Maintain a normal diet within 3 days before the physical examination, do not eat too greasy food or high-protein food, do not drink alcohol, and go to bed early at night to avoid fatigue.

2. You need to fast for at least 8 hours before the physical examination, otherwise it will affect the examination results of blood sugar, blood lipids, liver function and abdominal B-ultrasound.

3. People who are planning to have a baby or are already pregnant should not undergo X-ray examination.

4. Women’s health examinations should be avoided during the menstrual period.

5. On the day of the physical examination, it is best to wear loose, casual clothing to facilitate various examinations. Do not wear underwear with buttons or metal ornaments to avoid affecting the results of X-ray examination.

6. Pay attention to rest, ensure sleep, and strengthen exercise to enhance physical fitness. Eat a light, warm, nutritious diet and avoid spicy, cold, greasy foods and alcoholic products. Drinking some water before testing your blood sugar will not affect your blood sugar.
