What to do if you have superficial gastritis or reflux esophagitis?

Superficial gastritis and reflux esophagitis are very harmful to the human body. Some people are prone to gastric acid reflux, which is corrosive to food over time and can cause reflux esophagitis. The causative factors of superficial gastritis are very complex. It can be an infection with Helicobacter pylori, or it can be caused by drugs or unreasonable diet. These two diseases often occur together and require strict medication according to the course of treatment.

01Regarding the cause of reflux esophagitis, it is currently mainly believed that it is caused by gastric acid reflux erosion caused by dysfunction of the lower esophageal sphincter due to various reasons. Therefore, the treatment may include drugs that inhibit gastric acid secretion and improve sphincter function. Chronic superficial gastritis may also be complicated by Helicobacter pylori infection, bile reflux, etc. Treatment can also include inhibiting gastric acid and improving gastrointestinal motility. Anti-Helicobacter pylori drugs can also be added.

02 Since the direct cause of both diseases is gastric acid erosion, drugs that inhibit gastric acid secretion, such as omeprazole, cimetidine, etc., can be used. Mucosal protective agents, such as sucralfate, etc., can also be used. Drugs targeting gastrointestinal motility include metoclopramide, cisapride, etc.; if Helicobacter pylori infection is present, antibiotics need to be used in combination.

03Both diseases are not easy to cure, because our gastrointestinal tract is running all the time and is under heavy load. Short-term treatment can only play a control role. The key is daily protection, such as eating a light diet, avoiding alcohol and irritating food, eating small meals frequently, and not sleeping right after eating. In addition, if elderly people are taking aspirin at the same time, try to reduce the dosage or not use it.

Note:

Both diseases are chronic diseases. The key to treatment lies in daily health care. Try to raise your pillow when sleeping, eat more easily digestible food, and avoid eating and drinking too much. Also, don't add too much psychological burden to yourself, because stress can damage a person's immunity and gastrointestinal function.
