What causes calf pain?

Many people think that calf muscle pain is cramps. Calf muscle pain is a symptom. The occurrence of this symptom is related to many factors. Arteriosclerosis can cause problems with blood supply to the legs, thereby causing calf muscle pain. For calf muscle pain, you can massage it appropriately.

1. Limb arteriosclerosis leads to insufficient blood supply to the legs. After atherosclerosis, the lumen becomes narrower, blood flow is obstructed, and muscle metabolic products cannot be cleared in time. When they accumulate to a certain concentration, they stimulate autonomous muscle contraction and cause "calf cramps."

2. Arteriosclerosis causes the lumen to narrow, and insufficient blood supply to the calf is the culprit for calf cramps. It is known that arteriosclerosis begins in childhood and develops slowly and gradually. Therefore, in order to avoid "calf cramps", it is necessary to pay attention and implement various measures to prevent and treat arteriosclerosis as early as possible. Be prepared for a rainy day and take precautions before problems arise.

3. Fatigue, lack of sleep, rest or excessive rest can lead to accumulation of local acidic metabolic products and cause muscle spasms. Walking or exercising for too long, which causes excessive fatigue in the lower limbs, or lack of rest and sleep, can cause lactic acid accumulation. Sleeping and resting too much or too long can slow down blood circulation and cause carbon dioxide accumulation.

4. Bad sleeping posture, such as lying on your back for a long time with the quilt pressing on your feet, or lying on your stomach for a long time with your feet against the bed, forcing certain calf muscles to be in an absolutely relaxed state for a long time, causing "passive contracture" of the muscles.

5. Vascular factors: Varicose veins in the lower limbs can also cause leg cramps. In addition, leg cramps in middle-aged and elderly people are likely to be caused by lower limb arteriosclerosis occlusive disease. After arteriosclerosis, the blood supply to the legs is reduced, blood flow is poor, and metabolic products cannot be carried away by the blood. When the metabolites accumulate to a certain concentration, they will stimulate muscle contraction, causing painful cramps. Such elderly people may also experience symptoms of "intermittent claudication" when they are active during the day.
