What causes black lips

What causes black lips

Under normal circumstances, the color of the lips is pink and tender, and dark lips are considered abnormal. What causes black lips is a question that many people are concerned about. Many times, black lips are caused by medical factors, such as digestive system abnormalities.

1. Digestive system

After clinical research, it was found that the cause of black lips is closely related to diseases, especially problems with the digestive system. If the digestive system is not fully functional or if we suffer from long-term constipation, diarrhea and other symptoms, our lips will turn black.

2. Blood circulation

Once the blood circulation is poor or blocked, it will cause the lips to turn black. Therefore, when the lips turn black, you should also consider whether it is due to problems with blood circulation. Research has found that if a patient has problems with blood circulation, it will usually induce various cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, the most common of which are heart disease, anemia, etc. In severe cases, it may even induce major diseases such as stroke. Therefore, when your lips turn black, you should check your blood pressure as soon as possible.

3. Kidney function

Many people don’t know that if there is a problem with our kidney function, it will also cause our lips to change color. For example, kidney deficiency, nephritis, uremia, etc. are all common kidney diseases. Clinical studies have found that the lips of these patients are mainly purple-black in color. There are also some patients with chronic adrenal insufficiency whose lips are mainly black in color.

4. Hepatitis B

Patients with hepatitis B will also have dark lips, and dark lips are also one of the symptoms of worsening hepatitis B. When the liver is severely damaged, liver function will decline. At this time, the melanin in the human body will increase, causing the lips to darken.
