Can a tooth be extracted if you have pulpitis?

Tooth extraction is possible for pulpitis, but it depends on whether it is necessary. If the condition is not serious and can be improved and alleviated through some medication, there is naturally no need to treat it by tooth extraction. If medication has no effect, then tooth extraction is recommended.

1. Dental disease is probably the disease that everyone is most afraid of. Why is this? Mainly because of dental diseases, patients cannot tolerate the pain. Moreover, this kind of pain will choose a time to torture people. This is the case with acute pulpitis. The pain is more severe at night, seriously affecting the patient's sleep quality.

2. Acute pulpitis refers to acute inflammation of the dental pulp tissue. The source of infection mainly comes from the deep pulp. The infection of the dental pulp can cause apical infection through the apical foramen. The main clinical feature is severe pain. General analgesics are not effective. In the later stage, it can develop into pulp gangrene, which is mainly manifested as severe and unbearable pain. The nature of the pain has the following characteristics: spontaneous pain, paroxysmal aggravation, and intermittent attacks. So, can teeth be extracted in case of acute pulpitis? Since the affected tooth is in the acute inflammatory stage, tooth extraction should be postponed. There are many tooth-preserving treatments for acute pulpitis, and the doctor will treat it based on the specific condition of the patient's teeth.

3. The most effective way to treat acute pulpitis is root canal treatment. The doctor uses a special instrument for root canal treatment - a root canal microscope, to completely remove the infected pulp, infected dentin and toxic decomposition products. After root canal flushing, disinfection and tight filling of the root canal, bacteria are isolated from entering the root canal and causing reinfection. The acute pulp is removed and the tooth will obviously feel no more pain. There will still be some pain in the tooth after root canal treatment, which can be relieved after anti-inflammatory treatment. After the acute pulpitis is cured, porcelain tooth restoration is performed for deep protection. In this way, the treatment of acute pulpitis is perfectly ended. Therefore, tooth extraction is generally not performed for acute pulpitis.

4. Patients should not undergo tooth extraction if it is not necessary. If it is a last resort, you must choose a regular hospital and find an experienced doctor to perform the tooth extraction operation for you.
