Lumbar disc herniation treated with acupuncture, Chinese medicine treatment is effective

The most common cause of low back and leg pain is lumbar disc herniation, which is especially prone to middle-aged and elderly people. The best way to treat this disease is the Chinese medicine needle knife therapy, and it can also be combined with acupuncture, massage, and traction to achieve recovery as soon as possible.

1. Acupuncture therapy

By loosening strained and spasmodic muscles and ligaments, the mechanical relationship of the spine is restored, and the shear force on the intervertebral disc is reduced, nerve root irritation and compression symptoms are alleviated. In traditional Chinese medicine, the pain and pain radiation points of lumbar disc herniation are closely related to the Jiaji and Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridians, as well as the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian, Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian, and Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian in the lower limbs. Therefore, in clinical practice, the location of the lesion should be combined with the meridians of traditional Chinese medicine for treatment. (1) L3-L4 intervertebral disc herniation: the fixed points are L4-5 vertebrae + the transverse bone, Yingu, Taixi, etc. of the foot Shaoyin kidney meridian. (2) L4-L5 intervertebral disc herniation: the fixed points are mainly L4-5 vertebrae + the back acupoints, Zhibian, Weichunyang of the foot Taiyang bladder meridian + Huantiao, Fengshi, Yanglingquan, Xuanzhong of the foot Shaoyang meridian + Zusanli of the foot Yangming meridian. (3) L5-S1 intervertebral disc herniation: the fixed points are mainly L5-S1 vertebrae + the back acupoints, Zhibian, Weiyang, Chengshan, Kunlun of the foot Taiyang bladder meridian. (4) In addition, Ashi points are also an important reference for the fixed points of acupuncture knife treatment.

2. Local blockade therapy

There are two types of local blockade therapy: acupoint blockade and local regional blockade. Acupoint blocking: It has the comprehensive therapeutic effects of acupuncture and medicine, and therefore has a more obvious analgesic effect than simple acupuncture or simple material treatment. Commonly used closed acupoints include Sanjiaoshu, Shenshu, Dachangshu, Zhishi, Zusanli, Huantiao, Weizhong, Chengshan and other acupoints. (1) Add 1 ml of prednisolone acetate to 4 ml of 2% leuprorelin hydrochloride injection, mix well, and inject into 3 to 4 of the above-mentioned acupoints once every 5 to 7 days. 3 to 5 times constitutes a course of treatment. (2) 1-3 ml of vitamin B12 injection should be injected into 3-4 of the above-mentioned acupoints. Closed once a day. One course of treatment is 10 times.

3. External application of prescription

There are many clinical conservative treatment methods, such as acupuncture, massage, physical therapy, lumbar traction, etc., but they all have the disadvantages of poor efficacy or long treatment courses, and are not suitable for conventional massage treatment, making them difficult to treat clinically. In order to better improve the efficacy and shorten the treatment course, in recent years, some people have used homemade Chinese medicine Bitong Powder to apply relevant acupoints to treat acute central lumbar disc herniation, and achieved certain results. Treatment method: external application of Bi Tong San (composed of Chinese medicinal materials such as Peony Bark, Strychnos nux vomica, Zanthoxylum bungeanum, Gentiana macrophylla, and Naoyanghua). Grind it into powder in a certain proportion, mix it with water and honey to make a paste and apply it to acupoints, about 5 to 10g per acupoint each time. Acupoint prescription: Ashi point, Yaoyangguan, Dachangshu, Guanyuanshu, Yaoyan, Yanglingquan, Huantiao, etc., can be added or subtracted according to the condition of the disease. Apply externally for 6 to 7 hours each time. If the patient's skin irritation is severe, the application time can be shortened to once every other day. 7 times constitute a course of treatment.
