What's wrong with back and shoulder pain? Be careful of cervical spondylosis

The most common cause of back and shoulder pain is cervical spondylosis, which is the most common among people nowadays. Frequent sitting in front of the computer, bad posture and excessive fatigue can cause cervical spondylosis. Timely examination and relevant treatment are required.

1. Shoulder and back muscle pain may be caused by cervical spondylosis, or it may be caused by lumbar and back myofasciitis or phlegm and dampness.

2. The basic pathological change of cervical spondylosis is the degeneration of the intervertebral disc. The cervical vertebrae are located between the head and the thorax. The cervical intervertebral discs need to move frequently while bearing weight, and are prone to excessive minor trauma and strain, leading to illness.

3. The main pathological changes are: early stage is cervical disc degeneration, decreased water content of the nucleus pulposus and swelling and thickening of the fibers of the annulus fibrosus, followed by hyaline degeneration and even rupture. After the cervical intervertebral disc degenerates, its resistance to pressure and tension decreases. When affected by the gravity of the head and the pulling force of the head-thoracic muscles, the degenerated intervertebral disc may bulge outward locally or extensively, causing the intervertebral disc space to narrow, the articular processes to overlap and dislocate, and the longitudinal diameter of the intervertebral foramen to decrease.

4. Inspection

1. There are many types of cervical spondylosis and the symptoms are also complex. The pain in the neck, shoulders and back caused by it, in addition to discomfort such as soreness, heaviness, and stiffness of the neck, shoulders and back, there are also numbness and weakness of the limbs, and even dizziness and headaches. The patient has a relatively long medical history, with recurrent pain in the head, neck, shoulders, back, and arms, accompanied by corresponding tender points.

2. Phlegm and dampness: Sensation and sleep: The body feels tired, hands and feet are cold, chest tightness, excessive phlegm, easy drowsiness, joint pain, skin numbness, and gastrointestinal discomfort.
