What does a bronchitis cough feel like

In life, we can actually judge whether we have bronchitis by the symptoms of coughing. The cough caused by bronchitis starts with frequent and deep dry coughs, which are then followed by a small amount of secretions. It usually lasts for a week. If an infant suffers from this disease, he or she will also have a fever.

1. Some patients have a history of acute respiratory infections such as acute bronchitis, influenza or pneumonia before the onset of the disease. Patients often develop the disease in cold seasons, with symptoms of coughing and sputum, especially in the morning. The sputum is white, mucous, foamy, and sticky and difficult to cough up. In acute respiratory infections, symptoms worsen rapidly. The amount of sputum increases, the viscosity increases or becomes yellow and purulent, and occasionally there is blood in the sputum. After repeated attacks of chronic bronchitis, the responsiveness of the vagus nerve receptors in the bronchial mucosa increases, the parasympathetic nerve function is hyperactive, and allergic phenomena and wheezing may occur. As the disease progresses, the patient will cough and produce phlegm all year round, and the symptoms will worsen in winter and autumn. Patients with asthmatic bronchitis often have asthma-like attacks and are short of breath and unable to lie flat when symptoms worsen or secondary infections occur. Dyspnea is generally not obvious, but after the development of emphysema, as the severity of emphysema increases, dyspnea gradually increases.

2. Signs: There are usually no signs in the early stages of this disease. Sometimes wet and dry rales can be heard at the lung bases. In asthmatic bronchitis, asthma sounds can be heard after coughing or taking a deep breath. During an attack, there are widespread wheezing sounds. Long-term cases may have signs of emphysema.

3. X-ray signs: In the early stage of this disease, X-ray examinations are usually normal. In patients with a long course of illness, increased and coarse lung lines can be seen, especially in the lower lungs, and sometimes a "double track sign" can be seen. When combined with infection, there are small patchy blurred shadows around the bronchi.

When tracheitis or bronchitis occurs, it means that the condition is further worsening, and it will be more difficult to treat. However, if it is not treated actively, the condition will further develop and diseases such as emphysema will occur. Therefore, when symptoms of coughing appear, you should pay close attention to it and not let the condition worsen.
