Is it okay to use cosmetic contact lenses without care solution?

There is no way to preserve contact lenses for a long time without care solution. What to do if there is no contact lens care solution

If there is no care solution for your contact lenses, you can leave them in until the next day when the care solution is available. Because there are a large number of microorganisms and bacteria in water, wearing contact lenses directly after soaking in water can easily cause inflammation. If it is just an emergency, you can temporarily use boiled water as a substitute for a while, but never use tap water. Because there are a lot of bacteria in tap water, but boiled water has been disinfected at high temperature and can be used temporarily.

What to use for contact lens without care solution

To care for cosmetic contact lenses, they must be rubbed, washed, soaked and stored with care solution. In certain circumstances, if there is no care solution and you cannot buy it nearby, you can consider using pure distilled water as a temporary substitute, but be sure to rinse and soak it again with care solution before wearing it again. If there is no care solution for the contact lenses, they can be temporarily soaked in cold boiled water. However, contact lenses soaked in cold boiled water cannot be used directly on the eyes because cold boiled water does not disinfect and clean the contact lenses, and there is no 100% guarantee that there are no bacteria in cold boiled water. Therefore, contact lenses soaked in cold boiled water must be cleaned and disinfected with care solution the next day before use.

How often should I change the contact lens care solution?

Contact lens care solution should be changed every day! And the used ones must be thrown away and cannot be reused. Soak the lenses for at least 4 hours each time to achieve the desired effects. Immerse the lenses in a lens box filled with 2/3 of the care solution and tighten the box cover. If the lens box is not replaced for a long time, bacteria will easily grow in it. If you don't wear them often, the care solution should be replaced every 2-3 days. If you don't wear glasses every day, please keep the lenses in the care solution on the days you don't wear them, and replace them with the full-function care solution every 3-5 days. If you haven't worn your contact lenses for a few days, please clean, rinse, soak and disinfect the lenses carefully with care solution one day in advance so that you can use them safely the next day.
