What causes the mouth

What causes the mouth

Mouth numbness is a common condition in life. For example, eating spicy food can cause mouth numbness, which is mainly caused by the stimulation of capsaicin in the mouth. In addition, compression of the lips and poor blood circulation can also cause symptoms of mouth numbness. Therefore, everyone should understand the causes of mouth numbness. When the mouth feels numb, we can relax our lips and drink more warm water to promote blood circulation.

Causes of tingling lips

Numbness of lips is a common problem for many people, and this problem is often caused by the following factors.

1. Numbness of the lips is mostly related to slow blood flow, increased blood viscosity, changes in microcirculation, local blood supply insufficiency or cerebral blood supply insufficiency. You can check whether blood lipids, blood sugar, blood pressure and blood viscosity are increased.

2. Numbness in the lips is usually a sign of allergy. You may have eaten some allergenic food, medicine or food recently. Generally, the symptoms can be relieved on their own. If they don't improve, take some chlorpheniramine and you will feel better in one to two days. If it still doesn't work, taking calcium tablets at the same time will have a better effect.

3. Numbness of the lips may also be a precursor to a stroke. We must pay attention to this. If we suddenly feel numbness in our limbs, or numbness in our tongue or lips, accompanied by slow movements and unclear speech, we must pay attention to the possibility of a stroke.

What common factors can also cause lips to numb?

1. Allergic reaction

The most common cause of temporary lip numbness, medically known as paresthesia, is an allergic reaction to certain foods or chemicals. Food allergies generally come in two forms: internal reactions, which cause nausea, vomiting and internal swelling, and external ones, which often show up as a rash or redness where the skin comes in contact with the allergen. Lip numbness is sometimes a sign that a person has an external allergy to a certain food or ingredient.

Temporary stinging may also occur in response to specific balms, notes, or soothers. If a person is allergic to any ingredient or coloring agent use the product.

In this case, numbness is usually the only symptom, which usually goes away once the offending product is removed or washed off. Things can be a little longer with food allergies, and numbness is often just one of the reactions when someone has something they eat.

2. Sensitivity

Changes in external temperature can also cause numbness in the ears. Overheating or being too cold can cause this symptom.

Sunburn or prolonged exposure to cold or dry air can have the same effect, as certain spicy foods. People with sensitive skin are most likely to experience this reaction, and in most cases the feeling will go away. Sometimes it is possible to speed up the process by applying a basic, fine scented oil or petroleum jelly. Doing this before encountering the sensitivity can often prevent the situation in the first place.

3. Mineral deficiency

Numbness that seems to come and go on its own without any related food, product, or environmental exposure may be the result of a mineral deficiency. People with low levels of sodium, potassium, or phosphate can develop an imbalance of chemicals in the blood that can cause numbness, tingling, or itching in the lips, hands, or feet. This problem is usually fixed after a complementary medicine professional has confirmed that there is a low level of the mineral, often through a blood or urine test.

4. Neurological disorders

Nerve diseases, such as multiple sclerosis and trigeminal neuralgia, may also be a cause, although numbness in these cases is often only one symptom of many more serious conditions.

Dysfunctions affecting the nervous system often cause sensation problems in many different parts of the body and can also lead to breathing difficulties, increased blood pressure, and heart rate irregularities.

Peripheral neuropathy may also be to blame, if the main nerve to the lip is damaged or destroyed. This condition sometimes occurs due to trauma or injury, but can also be a symptom of another underlying condition such as diabetes, an immune disorder, or a buildup of toxins in the body.

5. Circulatory system diseases

Another common cause is poor blood circulation. Constriction of the blood vessels in and around the lips can cause lip tingling and numbness, which is usually only temporary although it can be persistent or cause problems under certain conditions. Raynaud's disease, which causes blood vessels to spasm in response to cold weather, is one example.

6. Infection

People with open sores in the mouth or untreated wounds or cuts on the lips or gums may experience numbness as a response to the infection. Infection occurs when bacterial strains begin to multiply and grow in injured tissue and can lead to a range of different problems. Loss of feeling in the lips is often the first sign of infection, especially if the feeling is combined with an elevated body temperature.

Mouth numbness is often caused by poor blood circulation, so we can eat more foods that promote blood circulation.
