Symptoms of bipolar depression

Bipolar disorder, also known as manic bipolar disorder, is a disease in which the mood fluctuates and is not under one's control. The onset time is also not under one's control. Sometimes the two emotions occur at the same time. Therefore, if you find that you have bipolar disorder, you must actively seek treatment. So what are the symptoms of bipolar depression?

The typical manifestations of bidirectional depression are low mood, slow thinking, mental fatigue and lack of energy, reduced speech and movement, and negativity and pessimism.

Most people with bipolar disorder spend more time in depressed phases than in excited phases. The moods of people with bipolar disorder do not follow a certain pattern when they change between the two extremes, and depression does not necessarily follow mania. It is also possible to experience multiple bouts of depression before experiencing manic symptoms. Mood changes can occur over weeks, months, or even years. It is best to go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment. Bipolar disorder has the highest suicide rate among all mental illnesses.

Due to the society's lack of correct understanding of bipolar depression, prejudice makes many patients unwilling to seek medical treatment. A large number of patients do not receive timely diagnosis and treatment, their condition worsens, and even serious consequences such as suicide occur. On the other hand, due to the public's lack of knowledge about bipolar depression, people with bipolar depression symptoms are mistakenly believed to be having a bad day and are not given due understanding and emotional support, which causes greater psychological pressure on patients and further worsens their condition.

Bipolar disorder patients suffer from low mood, pessimism and world-weariness. In severe cases, it is easy to have suicidal thoughts. Moreover, since the patient's thinking logic is basically normal, the success rate of suicide is also high. According to research, the suicide rate among patients with bipolar disorder is 20 times higher than that of the general population. More than half of the suicidal people in society may be suffering from bipolar depression. Some people who commit suicide for unknown reasons may have suffered from severe bipolar depression before their death, but it was not discovered in time. Because suicide only occurs when the disease develops to a certain degree of severity. Therefore, early detection of the disease and early treatment are very important for patients with bipolar depression.
