There are six main ways of transmitting hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is also a common disease in our country, and it is also relatively easy to spread. Many people stay away from hepatitis B patients, which causes many patients to be traumatized. In fact, hepatitis B is not spread at will, its transmission requires certain channels, so what are the transmission channels of hepatitis B? Let me introduce it to you below.

1. Mother-to-child transmission

Mother-to-child transmission is the most important route of transmission. Mother-to-child transmission includes two aspects: one is vertical transmission and the other is horizontal transmission. It is mainly transmitted through close contact during the perinatal period and after birth.

2. Nosocomial infection

Infection caused by repeated use of HBV-contaminated medical devices that have not been strictly disinfected during examination and treatment in the hospital is called nosocomial transmission, and includes surgical and dental instruments, blood collection needles, acupuncture needles and endoscopes.

3. Transmission through blood transfusion

The transfusion of blood and blood products infected with HBV may cause post-transfusion hepatitis B.

4. Transmission through close contact

Including in daily life, as long as the skin and mucous membranes are damaged, there is a possibility of infection.

5. Sexual transmission

Hepatitis B patients can be transmitted through sexual intercourse, which is also a form of body fluid transmission. In addition, it can also be transmitted through kissing, and if the oral mucosa is damaged, this is also possible. In a family, if one of the spouses is a hepatitis B patient or a hepatitis B virus carrier, the other spouse must be vaccinated with the hepatitis B vaccine to obtain antibodies; various preventive measures must also be taken in daily life.

6. Father-to-child transmission

The main way hepatitis B is transmitted from father to child is after the child is born. Due to the child's lack of immunity to the hepatitis B virus, he or she may be infected with the hepatitis B virus through close contact in life. We call this mode of infection horizontal transmission. This type of infection through close contact mainly occurs in younger children with weakened immune systems, so it should be given more attention.
