What are the treatments for lung infection

In the case of lung infection, in order to better reduce and lower the threat it poses to our health, we should pay attention to the choice of treatment methods. In daily life, we should pay attention to keeping the environment ventilated and dry, drink enough water every day, and also pay attention to preventing respiratory infections.

1. Open windows for ventilation twice a day for 15 to 20 minutes each time, and adjust the room temperature to 20 to 22°C and the humidity to 50% to 60%.

2. Maintain a semi-recumbent position for 30 to 60 minutes after eating before resuming your normal position. The amount of food for each meal should be 300-400 ml; the speed should not be too fast, and the time should be controlled within 20-30 minutes; the temperature should be around 40°C to avoid cold or hot stimulation that may cause gastric spasm and vomiting; after the patient eats, clean his or her mouth. When cleaning the oral cavity, special attention should be paid to cleaning the buccal mucosa on the paralyzed side of the oral cavity to avoid food residues and oral infection. If bacteria in the mouth are inhaled into the respiratory tract, it will cause bronchial or lung infection in the patient. Patients with dentures must remove them before going to bed, clean them and place them in a container of cool boiled water.

3. Ensure adequate water intake, generally 2000 ml/day, to reduce the viscosity of secretions.

4. Keeping the airways open and stretching the inactive parts of the lungs can best prevent respiratory infections. For patients with impaired consciousness and long-term bedridden, they should lie in the side-lying position more often, turn over and tap their backs once every 2 hours, and encourage them to cough while tapping their backs. Back tapping is to hold your palms empty and pat the patient's back, starting from the bottom of the lungs and gradually moving upwards, so that the small airways are vibrated, and the accumulated phlegm is separated from the wall of the airways and gathered in the large airways, thus facilitating the discharge of secretions accumulated in the airways.
