Nephritis is a common disease, and its incidence has been increasing in recent years. According to experts, there are many early symptoms of nephritis, among which frequent urination, urgency, and nocturia are the most common. In addition, there are also many other symptoms such as proteinuria, edema, hematuria, and pain. 1. Abnormal urination : usually includes frequent urination, urgency, pain when urinating, nocturia, abnormal urine volume, etc. 2. Proteinuria: After urination, a layer of fine foam can be seen on the urine and it lasts for a long time without disappearing. This is the so-called "foamy urine", indicating that there is a large amount of protein in the urine. The presence of protein in urine is sometimes physiological and transient, while others are pathological. Pathological proteinuria requires our high attention and is common in glomerular lesions caused by various reasons. 3. Edema: A sudden increase in weight is an extremely sensitive indicator of edema. There may not be any symptoms of edema at this time, which is called latent edema. If the edema worsens further, you may start to see swelling of the eyelids, and then swelling of the lower parts of the body, such as the ankles and lower limbs. In severe cases, ascites and pleural effusion may also occur. If you press the front of the tibia of the calf with your fingers, a depression will appear. This indicates that the excess water in the body has reached 4-5 kg. 4. Hematuria: Normal newly discharged urine is mostly transparent and light yellow. When the urine contains a certain amount of red blood cells, it is called hematuria. Due to the different amount of bleeding, the urine may appear light red, cloudy, meat washing water-like, or mixed with blood clots. When the amount of blood in urine exceeds 1 ml per liter, a light red color may appear, which is called gross hematuria. Gross hematuria can be seen in acute nephritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, kidney stones or urinary tract stones, kidney tumors, etc. If red blood cells are seen under a microscope, it is microscopic hematuria. 5. Pain : The location of pain, characteristics of pain attacks, nature and intensity of pain are often important clues to diagnosis. In acute kidney disease, the kidneys often increase in size, causing sudden swelling of the renal capsule, causing dull pain in the flank or costovertebral angle. In case of ureteral obstruction, severe pain may occur, which is colic and usually develops very rapidly. The pain may radiate to different parts of the body, such as the lower abdomen and inner thighs. Renal colic may occur intermittently after several days, weeks or months. When acute urinary retention occurs, extreme bladder distension may also cause pain, but the pain may be relieved after the urine is discharged. Urinary tract infection may also be accompanied by urethral pain. |
