What are the methods for treating hypertrophic pharyngitis

If you find that you are affected by hypertrophic pharyngitis, you need to analyze and understand the cause. You also need to pay attention to common upper respiratory tract infections, or rhinitis, sinusitis and other causes. At the same time, you should pay attention to scientific treatment methods to reduce the harm.

1. Causes

It is often a secondary disease of chronic simple pharyngitis, mostly caused by upper respiratory tract infection or repeated attacks of acute pharyngitis, or rhinitis, sinusitis, irritation of the pharynx after thick nasal discharge, etc. Excessive smoking and drinking, stimulation from dust, harmful gases, and occupational factors are all causes of the disease.

2. Clinical manifestations

Discomfort in the throat, such as pain, itching, dryness, burning, smoky, or foreign body sensation, etc. Irritating cough, forceful coughing up of secretions in the morning, or even nausea. Patients with swelling of the lateral pharyngeal cord often experience dysphagia when swallowing. Sometimes the mucous membranes may bleed, and the secretions coughed up or spit out may be stained with blood, which often frightens the patient and prompts him to seek medical attention.

Treatment

1. Remove the cause

Actively treat rhinitis, sinusitis and other diseases, quit smoking and drinking, stay away from dust, treat systemic diseases, and enhance immunity.

2. Local treatment

Compound borax solution, furazolidone solution and other solutions are often used for gargling to keep the oral cavity and oropharynx clean; or throat lozenges can be taken sublingually; compound iodine glycerin and 5% silver nitrate solution can be applied to the throat, which has astringent and anti-inflammatory effects. For the raised lymph follicles on the posterior pharyngeal wall, chemical drugs, freezing, laser or microwave therapy, ultrasonic atomization, local ultraviolet irradiation, etc., also have auxiliary effects on hypertrophic pharyngitis.

3. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment

For local symptomatic treatment, you can use Chinese patent medicines, such as Liyanling, Coral Grass lozenges, Baoan Powder, etc., and take them together with tea: equal parts of Shuanghua, Ophiopogon japonicus, Sterculia lychnophora, and raw licorice, brew with boiling water and take frequently.
