Will Mongolian spots grow on the face?

Nowadays, many children have Mongolian spots on their buttocks. Although these spots will gradually disappear as the children grow up, some mothers who are preparing for pregnancy are still very panicked when they see them. They have been thinking about one thing in their hearts: if Mongolian spots grow on the child's buttocks, will they grow on the face?

Mongolian spots are the most common birthmark in newborns and are a congenital disease. We can often find some dark spots on the waist of newborns. This is a tiger-like symptom. Mongolian spots appear in various parts of the human body, but are most common on the waist and buttocks. They appear gray-blue or black and have irregular shapes. The diameter can range from a few millimeters to more than ten centimeters. Mongolian spots are a benign disease and usually disappear naturally in childhood. Parents of newborns do not need to worry too much about it.

Mongolian spots can occur anywhere on the human body, most often on the waist and buttocks, but there is also a certain chance of them growing on the face. Mongolian spots are mostly bluish, with oval or irregular pigmentation, and the boundary with normal skin is not obvious. In some cases, multiple spots may occur. Mongolian spots will first deepen as the child grows, and then gradually fade, disappearing completely at the age of 3 to 4 years old.

Mongolian spots are a benign type of pigmentation and generally do not require treatment. However, considering that children may develop some negative emotions during their growth, they can be sent to a regular hospital for laser treatment or removal according to the situation. Currently, emerald laser treatment is often used for Mongolian spots. Emerald laser is used to absorb the pigment in the affected area. The prognosis is good, pigmentation is reduced, and the risk is low. Most spots can disappear completely before the age of five. If there is still no sign of disappearance at the age of seven, you should go to a regular medical institution for treatment in time.
