The causes and hazards of spinal muscular atrophy

Muscle problems may not receive much attention in daily life, but spinal muscular atrophy is not a minor disease. Patients with this disease will suffer great damage to their bodies, but in the early stages it is often caused by minor muscle problems. Therefore, if you want to stay healthy, it is still necessary to increase your understanding of spinal muscular atrophy.

Muscular atrophy refers to the reduction in muscle volume caused by nutritional disorders of skeletal muscles, thinning or even disappearance of muscle fibers. The main causes are: neurogenic muscular atrophy, myogenic muscular atrophy, disuse muscular atrophy and muscular atrophy due to other reasons. In addition to pathological changes in muscle tissue itself, muscle nutritional status is also closely related to the nervous system. Patients with muscular atrophy are bedridden for a long time due to muscle atrophy and muscle weakness, and are prone to complications such as pneumonia and bedsores. In addition, most patients experience symptoms of medullary paralysis, which poses a great threat to their lives. Therefore, the treatment of muscular atrophy is very important. In order to achieve the effect of treating muscular atrophy, patients must choose scientific treatments.

Causes of Spinal Muscular Atrophy

Disuse muscular atrophy: Upper motor neuron disease is caused by long-term muscle inactivity. Systemic wasting diseases such as hyperthyroidism, malignant tumors, autoimmune diseases, etc. are also common causes of muscular atrophy.

Myogenic muscular atrophy: common in muscular dystrophy, myotonia, periodic paralysis, polymyositis, trauma such as crush syndrome, ischemic myopathy, metabolic myopathy, endocrine myopathy, drug-induced myopathy, neuromuscular transmission disorder myopathy such as myasthenia gravis, etc. This is one of the causes of muscle atrophy.

Neurogenic muscular atrophy: mainly caused by lesions of the spinal cord and lower motor neurons. This type of muscular atrophy is commonly caused by spinal vertebral bone hyperplasia, intervertebral disc disease, spinal nerve tumors, arachnoiditis, neuritis, plexus disease, spinal nerve tumors, arachnoiditis, neuritis, plexus disease, nerve damage, syringomyelia, motor neuron disease, Guillain-Barré syndrome, brain lesions and disuse muscular atrophy caused by spinal cord lesions, etc.

So will muscle atrophy threaten the patient's life? Muscular atrophy is a neurological disease, and its occurrence is closely related to people's lifestyle. At the same time, with the improvement of material life, people's lack of the most basic exercise has laid the seeds for muscular atrophy, posing a great threat to the lives of patients with muscular atrophy. Therefore, muscle atrophy must be treated as soon as possible after it occurs.

The dangers of spinal muscular atrophy

1. Western medicine treatment. At present, there is no ideal effect of Western medicine treatment at home and abroad, but it has improved the life of patients with muscular dystrophy to some extent! But it is easy to relapse, making patients miserable.

2. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the damaged internal organs should be identified based on dialectical treatment. This will slow the treatment of muscle atrophy and the effect is not very ideal. If it continues for a long time, it will cause certain side effects on the physical constitution of some patients.

3. Psychotherapy: The patient's recovery is a long process that requires a long struggle, so it is very important to have a good mentality. Family members should show care and encourage patients to do more exercise, so that patients can have a good mood, which will play a certain auxiliary role in the treatment of the disease.

4. Drug therapy: Patients must take medications scientifically and accurately according to the doctor's instructions, and go to the hospital for regular follow-up visits to effectively control the progression of the disease.
