Treatment of bone tumors, combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine

Osteoma is most common among teenagers and can cause some complications, such as headaches and epilepsy. Osteoma generally does not become malignant and can be recovered very well after scientific treatment. Those with mild symptoms do not require surgery and should do more Chinese medicine and acupuncture.

1. Western medicine treatment of bone tumor

The growth of bone tumors gradually increases with the development of the human body, and the tumors usually stop growing after development stops. Asymptomatic tumors can go undetected throughout life. For patients with mild symptoms, symptomatic treatment can be adopted without surgical removal. However, if the tumor grows rapidly or continues to grow after adulthood, surgical removal is required. For osteomas that protrude outside the bone, they can be removed from the root; for lesions in difficult-to-operate areas, it is not necessary to perform a complete resection outside the capsule, otherwise it will cause obvious disability.

If the patient has no clinical symptoms, no treatment is required, but regular clinical follow-up observation is required; if the patient has clinical compression symptoms, surgical treatment is required. The purpose of the surgery is to remove the tumor tissue and stabilize the spine, namely tumor scraping and bone grafting fusion.

2. TCM Treatment of Osteoma

[Treatment based on syndrome differentiation]

1. Internal treatment is based on nourishing kidney qi, with the goal of removing blood stasis and reducing swelling. The prescriptions used include Tiaoyuan Shenqi Pills, Liujun Pills, Amber Black Dragon Pills, etc.

2. External treatment: Apply Heituixiao mixed with Yanghe Jiening ointment topically and apply it on the affected area.

2. Professional Nursing

The patient is forced into a certain position and feels progressively worsening migratory bone pain in the lower back, chest, and limbs, especially during physical activity. The pain is severe and the patient keeps groaning with a painful expression. At this time, we give care, consideration, and comfort to the patients, explain the causes of pain to them, and give them painkillers as ordered by the doctor. Timely and effective pain relief is crucial, but we must choose the right time, dosage, and route of administration so that the drug can maintain a certain concentration level in the body and achieve a long-term and effective analgesic effect. On the contrary, if the medicine is administered randomly, it will not only fail to relieve the pain, but will also cause drug resistance and affect treatment. After medication, closely observe the analgesic effect. Non-drug measures can also be used to relieve pain, use relaxation techniques, distract the patient's attention, ask the patient to do deep breathing exercises, listen to music, read books, tell stories, watch TV, communicate more to divert the patient's attention, and massage the patient's affected area appropriately to reduce muscle tension and promote blood circulation. Give the patient a comfortable position, reduce noise and light, maintain appropriate temperature and humidity to make the patient comfortable, and ensure sufficient rest and sleep time. Pain can also be controlled through relaxation, biofeedback, peripheral nerve block, acupuncture and other methods.
