What is the reason for heavy moisture in the body and how to distinguish it

There must be a reason for dampness in the body. Most of the time it has a lot to do with the patient's living or working environment, and secondly with eating habits. If the humidity in the working environment is relatively high, it is recommended not to work in such an environment for a long time, as it will cause great harm to the body.

External reasons:

It is mostly caused by patients being injured by fog and dew, or sweating on clothes, working in water, wading in rain, or living in a humid place. The disease progresses from the outside to the inside, and the symptoms vary depending on the location of the lesion. If it is shallow, it will injure the skin, flesh, tendons and veins or flow into the joints; if it is deep, it can enter the internal organs.

Symptoms of external dampness invasion: if dampness accumulates on the skin surface, symptoms may include chills without sweating, fever, body aches, a heavy head as if wrapped, and a heavy and painful body. If dampness blocks the meridians, symptoms may include heaviness and soreness of the limbs, or stiffness or spasms of the meridians. If dampness affects the tendons and bones and becomes arthralgia, symptoms may include heavy pain or swelling in the joints, pain in a specific location, and heaviness in the hands and feet. When exogenous dampness invades the human body, it is often accompanied by other pathogenic factors or pathological characteristics such as wind, cold, summer heat, and heat. Clinically, this is often used to make a diagnosis of the cause or nature of the disease and serve as a basis for treatment, such as combined cold and dampness, combined rheumatism, combined dampness and heat, or a combination of wind, cold and dampness.

Internal reasons:

Internal dampness can be caused by external dampness invading the human body and affecting the physiological functions of the spleen, which is called dampness trapping the spleen and earth. It can also be caused by improper diet, fatigue, worry, etc. which damage the spleen, or by weak kidney yang which leads to spleen yang deficiency. Because the spleen is responsible for transportation and transformation, it is closely related to the metabolism and distribution of water in the human body. If the spleen is damaged and loses its normal physiological function, the water in the body will gather and become dampness, and even accumulate and become water.

The main clinical manifestations of internal dampness are: sallow complexion, mental fatigue, loss of appetite, greasy mouth without thirst, chest tightness and fullness, vomiting and sputum, loose stools and diarrhea, or edema with little urine, or excessive leucorrhea in women. Internal dampness can further evolve and develop in the human body. If it enters the chest and diaphragm, it may cause dampness to obstruct the clear yang, and in severe cases it may cause symptoms of blurred consciousness; or the chest meridians may be blocked, resulting in chest pain. If the blockage occurs in the large intestine, other symptoms may include blood in the stool, dark blood, or purple-black blood like red bean juice.
